To Be or Not to Be?

A rather drastic title for this post, I am aware. But, there are occasions when radical action is required. And, I'm the one who needs to take such action. I bow my head in shame that today I slipped into the rank of 100.

Now, I can say with honesty, that I do not give great importance to WA rank. Previously, I've remarked on the success of many WA members who are far beyond the 200 level. Many of those members are out-of-sight due to successfully continuing to work on their business.

In my case, at a level of 100, I cannot attribute that to success. The result is from being inactive for whatever reason. Maybe my inactivity has been due to a case of 'winter blues'. But that can no longer be a genuine excuse.

The Big Seasonal Turnaround

Yesterday, 22nd September in New Zealand was officially the first day of Spring. Research tells that it was the day when the sun shifted from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere, referred to as 'The Equinox'. (Please don't hold me to that. The information is on Google.)

So, with the sun now overhead (even though it is raining outside at present), I believe it's time for me to get back into action.

The Reason for the Title of this Post

To Be or Not To Be - is related to more pressing matters such as:

"Black Friday is Nigh"

As the word 'nigh' used in Shakespear's era appears to be well out of fashion, I can safely say 'Black Friday is not far away. And, that is the day that my WA annual subscription is due.

Should I renew my subscription? Of course, this question is one that only I can answer.

I've said repeatedly, that I would hate to be without Wealthy Affiliate. But, if I'm not taking advantage of all, or at least a percentage, of the incredible ongoing training from Kyle, Carson and Jay, what is the point? And then, there's this wonderful community to be a part of!

The point is that I have enough experience to know that nothing stands still with online marketing.

It was 2006 when I became curious about creating my own website. In 2010 my involvement started due to the help of a friend.

Over those years, until the present, I have seen and experienced many changes, in particular with search engine optimization. As we know, the success of SEO is greatly affected by the quality of content writing.

Progression in online marketing will continue. There is no doubt about that. Therefore, ongoing education is inevitable, and that is where training provided at Wealthy Affiliate is of utmost value.

Choices We Make as Online Marketers

So, will I renew my annual WA subscription? I hope so. After four-and-a-quarter years' membership, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. No WA emails to check first thing in the morning, and last thing at night.

But, it's up to me to get on and improve my websites by writing and publishing a greater amount of content than I’ve produced throughout this year.

As well as writing content for my websites, I plan to be more active in the community.

Have you, too, been lagging behind? If so, I recommend getting back into it as end of year sales are exciting, and something to work towards.

If you've arrived at this point, I thank you very much for your interest.

I wish you a great week ahead.

Thank you for your post Valerie, sadly us here in the UK are moving into the early dark and wet days 😢

Great message, yes I have definitely been found wanting and need to get my positive hat on and stop fannying around with nonsense.

👍

Hi Cordelia, thanks so much for your message. On the few occasions I've mentioned in WA about the warmer seasons in NZ, my heart goes out to those in the Northern Hemisphere. I had a 5-week experience in England many years ago. It was Christmas when our daughter and son-law were living in Wolverhampton. Oh, the bleakness and extreme cold got at me and I became quite ill. In spite of that, I have many happy memories of that visit to England.

Getting back to business - yeah, it's short run-down now to the hectic season of sales and Christmas songs in shopping malls. I've always enjoyed the Christmas music, but some do not share that with me.

Anyway, nowadays, with online shopping no-one needs to be bothered about the music. They can put full concentration on purchasing the best available on the web.

So, no more fannying around for either of us. 😉

Cheers :)
Valerie

What a wonderful post - I very much enjoyed reading it. Your words have motivated me to work harder and work on my time management skills.

I think we all lose our way and slack off at times, even with those things that mean the most to us. The important thing is to have the ability to spot the changes in our behavior and to put a plan in motion to 'get back on the horse.'

It appears you have done both and I have every faith you will continue to flourish within the WA community in the coming years ;)

All the best to you, Shannon

Thank you so much, Shannon, for reading this post and leaving your comment. I greatly appreciate your kind words.

I look forward to being in touch more often in the future.

With best wishes,
Valerie

Peaks and valleys, ups and downs, dark and light. Life does tend to be cyclic at times. I have had times of intense productivity only to be followed up with a more 'laissez-faire' approach.
For me it has been a case of being happy with both knowing that, one will follow the other, as sure as night follows day.
I look forward to reading more of your posts for many years to come Valerie.

Thank you so much Twack for your comment. I always enjoy reading your inspirational words. It's almost a certainty that I'll be here for a few years yet to come.
Have a great week and we'll catch up again, soon.

Looking forward to it.

Thank you.😊

Hi, Valerie,
I hope the winter blues have passed you now.
You are so right the changes we see are fast and they happen within a blink of an eye. Keeping up to date is so essential and we are lucky we get that here.

I have had lulls too. Then I coma back more stronger than ever.

I would certainly miss you Valerie if you didn't sign up for another year. Some how I think you will.
Sending you a big hug Valerie. Have a wonderful week.

Debs .🤗😉

Awww.....thank you so much Debs. It's so nice to receive your message.

Over past months I've been looking at emails and wishing I had the energy to respond. However, with a new season and a new week, I very easily decided it was time to get active again. It was a case of 'now or never'.

I think your right, Debs. It's unlikely I will leave.

Thanks for the big hug, and I send a warm hug to you.

I look forward to catching up again, soon :)

Valerie 😉😊

You go girl. Sometimes we need to take a break. I've been working on multiple things, including content for my website. I do not find writing easy. SEO is definitely an interest that I have and find hard to do. Many Many things I still have to learn so yes I just renewed my membership and I will keep on working this. The community is awesome and certainly helps get things done faster than having to fill out support tickets and wait for an answer.

Donne Ellis

Thank you, Donne, for leaving your comment. I'm pleased to learn that you've renewed your membership. Yes, the WA community is incredibly wonderful. In fact, the entire programme is fantastic, including Site Support.

Withing you all the best :)
Valerie

Good Morning Valerie,

For sure I will renew my membership. no question about that.
Thanks to having 2 websites where I write about health and environmental issues my world view has changed considerably. I am more aware of what is happening.
This will be the reason why I will join the Global Climate Strike in Malaga this coming Friday. I will have a board with bUnited and the 5G Space Appeal and hope to talk to many like-minded people.
Without my websites, I might not have felt the urge and necessity to participate.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Good Evening, Taetske,

Thank you very much for your response to my post.
Both your websites are wonderful and a credit to you.
I wish you all the best with your participation in the Global Climate Strike on Friday. I'm sure there will be very many people interested to talk with you.

I look forward to learning about this experience.

With best wishes,
Valerie

This Global Climate Strike started worldwide on the 20th and is kicking up a lot of dust. Leaders and governments are not doing their utmost best even sometimes knowingly doing something harmful. It was time people were speaking up and that is what is happening now. I really hope it will stop going in this destructive direction so the next generations also have a place to live their lives and raise their families.

All the best, Taetske

Taetske, I agree with what you are doing in an attempt to save the climate from more destruction. Keep up your good work. I certainly hope your efforts and those of the many others involved will take effect. It would be wonderful to know that younger generations will live in a better world than what is currently apparent to their future.

With best wishes,
Valerie

Hello Valerie and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
We are also in Queensland and today the weather is starting to get hotter.
Being in WA for 4.5 years is a great achievement and whatever you do it will be appreciated by many here.
We all have plenty to offer from our experiences here, keep up the progress, it will not be wasted.
All the best.
Darren :)

Thank you very much, Darren, for your kind words. It's a pleasure to receive your comment.
Wishing you all the best :)
Valerie

Hi Valerie. We haven't had a spring here in Qld Aust.
It went straight to Summer.
4.5 years is a long time to have been at WA. I can understand you not knowing what to do if you didn't have WA..I've been here for 2.5 yrs and I feel the same. Jim

Hi Jim, It sounds as though Queensland is in for a long summer. Although summer is a great season, the heat can sometimes get the better of us. I do hope that the temperatures don't get too high as the months go on.

4.5 years is a long time but there are members who have been here for twice that time, and more. No doubt, I'll stay but I do need to be more involved, at least with producing content and being helpful within the community.

Best wishes,
Valerie

Ist of September is spring in Australia and our third week of bushfires.
The drought is winning as a lot of towns are running out of water in the dams.
Our small town of Tenterfield known as the birthplace of our nation has been a forgotten corner of the nation except for the fact it is the birthplace as well of Peter Allen the singer.
Because of the fires, we have had the premier finds us last week and visit us.
The Governor-General has just left in two army choppers after a lunchtime visit.

Hi Tom, thanks very much for your message. Most New Zealanders take 1st September as the beginning of Spring but the 'weather powers-that-be' state it's 22nd September.

To add to that, my father was an expert gardener. Gardening was his life and he worked as a Seedsman at what was then the private company of Arthur Yates and Co. Due to my Dad's gardening knowledge, he always said that 21st September was the beginning of Spring. That was something I grew up with.

Thanks very much for the photos. It would have been a pleasure meeting the Governor-General. No doubt, it would be a greater pleasure if his visit wasn't related to the fires in Australia. Since my childhood years, I've been aware of the frequency of fires in Australia.

Last summer, in New Zealand, there were fires throughout both Islands. It's certainly is scary for all concerned.

With best wishes,
Valerie
