How Does One Pin Pages to Pinterest

Hi Folks,

I am endeavouring to complete Bootcamp Training which I started a long time ago. I've promised myself many times to complete this training. However, I am at a standstill with Pinterest.

One of the tasks is 'Pin at least 5 pages via your Affiliate Links'. The video training is to find content on Wealthy Affiliate that has a suitable image, and pin that to to one of my Boards.

When I attempt this process using my affiliate link Pinterest gives a message saying that what I'm trying to pin is spam. I assume that Pinterest is, again, not allowing affiliate links.

So, ignoring my affiliate link, I've attempted to pin an image from a WA member's blog and I get the same message about it being spam.

I'm a total loss on how to use Pinterest successfully.

I read many positive comments and blogs about how great Pinterest is, but as much as I want to be successful with Pinterest, it's not working for me. Rather a better statements is: I can't make Pinterest work for me!

I look forward to any solutions that you may be able to offer.

Thank you.

Good Morning Valerie,

As you did not give a like I wonder if you saw my answer with 2 Pinterest example cat photos.
How has your health been lately? You are in spring and here the rains have started which is good as it is very needed.
Recently we had extremely bad weather, a catastrophe on the island of Mallorca, people washed away in their cars.
Also in villages around where I live. One place had 400 liters in 12 hours, poor people had their houses literally washed empty.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Thanks for sharing, Valerie.

My pleasure Roger.
Thank you :)

No problem, Valerie.

Having the same problem. Hopefully, we'll get some answers, Deanna.

Hi Deanna, and thanks for your comment.
Glenys, aka Happy2Learn, has left some valuable information in her comment which I'll definitely try.

Hi Valerie hope you are better now that the warmer weather is here. Well done for diving into bootcamp again. I have finally finished it. It turns into a 50-55 post mountain so snuggle in for a long ride!!
Anyway..... That exact Pinterest training is out of date....so its not just you. How I got around it was to select a post that I like with an image that I like....and then post the image and upto 500 words summary to Pinterest and then send people to my website to continue reading. My website post has the affiliate links to WA.
Hope that helps.

Hi Glenys, thank very much for your comment and explaining how you solved the problem with this part of the training. I should have realized the training was out of date!
Yesterday I did select a WA post and tried to post the image, but Pinterest wouldn't accept it. I got the same spam message. In saying that perhaps if I had inserted a summary prior to posting the image, maybe it would not have been rejected. I will certainly try it again. Thanks again, you've been a great help.
Also, I am much better now, thanks. It's all go to catch up on more than two months of time lost.
I hope all is well with you. Have a wonderful weekend :)

Thanks Valerie onwards and upwards

I get this Valerie and the way I have found to get round it is to pin other images to Pinterest, that then drives people to your profile there, which should contain your blog in pretty link form obviously, so you know if it gets views or not and then people can see and read about what you do.

You haven't mentioned it, but the same thing happewns with Google+, so I produce content and post it using Pretty links

Others will no doubt have similar and or diferent views

Does this help

That helps a lot Dave, thanks. Just getting my Pinterest thing moving forward.

Thanks for your response Dave.

It's interesting that you use pretty links with WA related content. I use pretty links with my niche sites, but not with my WA site. So that is a thought.

I don't have the same problem with Google+. I always post content, as per Jay's teaching. Perhaps I could try that with Pinterest!

And yes, your comment does help thanks Dave. I'm going to try using pretty links in my WA site.

I found the same thing happen when I tried to create a pin. I haven’t tried this yet but will and maybe you can try it: put an image from WA only as an image no link. But then link it to your actual website and not your WA profile. See how that works for you. Then let me know if it works. Good luck with it.

Thanks Robert for your comment. I will try your suggestion, but what I was hoping for was a solution to getting results from exactly following Kyle's training. However, Glenys aka Happy2Learn has commented "That exact Pinterest training is out of date". As with many programmes, Pinterest has made changes over the years. and I should have looked at the date of the training. More diligence required on my part. Lol!!

I noticed a lot of the training is out of date due to some of the outside websites or tools updating their systems. That is one reason I enjoy reading blog posts here. There are many things that are updated here just by a simple blog post. I am about to try what I suggested. It might be a training tutorial I may be able to do as a result if it works. 😀

Hi Valerie. I haven't had any issues with my Niche site but I haven't tried putting affiliate links from my second site (selling WA) as yet. Jim

Thanks very much Jim for leaving your comment. It appears from comments of other members that pinning from niche sites works okay. The problem appears to be solely WA related.

Good Morning Valerie,

I do not know if you have seen my pins on Pinterest? I am using my cat photo. On top, it says: new post by Taetske with a date.
Below the photo, I normally have the little of the post.
These pins are doing very well.

Good answer

Good Morning Dave,

When people on Pinterest go to my post they will see a WA homemade widget in the right sidebar.

Cool

Taetske, Thank you for leaving your comment.

I just clicked on the Pinterest link in your profile and visited your Pinterest 'Healthy Anti Aging Alternatives'. I am now following you and can see that you have a great Pinterest account with a very large following.

However, I cannot see a cat photo. Do you have another Pinterest account. I do remember receiving a message from you several months ago advising of your Pinterest account. At that time I followed you, but can't see it now.

Greetings. ~Valerie

Good Morning Valeria,

They look like this.
I have them spread over different boards depending on the subject.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Nice one!

Valerie, I have heard from WA members that Pinterest does not like WA and flags anything from it as spam. Your links and other members’ blogs are recognized as such. I pin my content from my niche site a lot and never had a problem.

Thanks for your comment Maria. It's interesting, but no doubt makes sense due to the enormity of WA, that WA links are seen as spam. It's good to know that you don't have problems with pinning your from you niche site.
