Mystery Shopper on my website
I normally visit my own websites in order to check for mistakes and appearance soon after publishing.
But over the weekend I decided to do the whole mystery shopper routine of the full circle customer experience.
I spoke with my wife and went into her Facebook profile. I then looked for my posts as they show on her profile. I read them as if for the first time. It was an interesting experience. I realized some phrasing that I could have done better in terms of pitching the posts here and there. Some of them we actually good.
I then went through the Facebook page for my niche and read all the posts that I ever posted there. I really felt like was a new customer.
Finally I clicked through from Facebook to the article on my website. On reading through the content I realized that I need to bring some more life to some of these articles with more colour and images. I also picked up that some of my internal links are opening new browser windows which I thought I had made to navigate in same browser.
I also realized that some of my articles are actually ending abruptly, leaving the visitor hanging. They need to have a good conclusion or a call to action.
I now need to do this same process the other articles on the other sites that I have, and on the other social media channels. I am working on a schedule to do this once a week until I have covered all my content.
So I have a bit of work to do.
Have you guys been doing something like this over and above asking other people for feedback.

I have lots of feed back and am always picking up ideas to try -
Now some of the suggestions fall flat and my site slows down with visits and so I have to redo to get visits up again and out of nearly 300 feedback only two have made an impoovement -
One of these was to add a mission statement and this worked and the other was to add Yoast and this really worked
Indeed, we need to pick what is appropriate for our site and our visitors. The benefit is that at least it gives you something to think about in case you missed something.

This is a great idea! Even though I'm early in the process (a couple of months in), it makes sense to get into the habit of 'mystery shopping' my sites now. That way there are no surprises down the line and I'm confident in my visitors' experience with my site versus competitors. Thanks!
It is a good practice to develop.
