Many thanks. Nice to see you still around. I've maintained my subscription, because I thought at some point I'd get back to this. But I haven't.

Hi All. This question is totally outside of web site/ WA stuff, but I really need help. I teach design history and over the years, I have narrated some of my powerpoints, sa
Maybe your computer is not powerful enough to run Windows 10 and convert big Powerpoint presentations to MP4s. Try making smaller presentations that can be strung together as a playlist on YouTube.
Also, when you're doing something that's resource-hungry close all unnecessary apps that you might have open.
Ahhh. Good to know. I'm going ask my computer guy about this. Do I need more power?? I'll look into the playlist idea too. But I don't want the students to be stopping and going too much. They have no attention span. Thank you!
Hey Marion,
Thank YOU for suggesting this as I had not thought of it, but you are correct, my IT guy always stated that it is never a good idea to install a new OS over top of an older one.
Because I suffered the same issues as Terry did, and I found a workaround... in which I had created a post on (yes, I shared this with Terry too)... I sent my PowerPoint file to my IT fella today, to have him try creating a video using HIS PowerPoint that was on a Windows 10 machine that has NEVER seen Windows 7.
... PLUS he used PowerPoint that came with his Office 2019 (a newer version than Terry and I work with) and STILL the video refused to be created WITH the audio file.
I am beginning to think this is a major failure with Microsoft's PowerPoint and I truly miss WonderShare's PPT2 Video Pro, as they have discontinued their awesome software that I used to be able to use in creating videos from PowerPoint slideshow files.
Thought you might want to know of this failure, though I am disappointed because I sooooo want this to be the answer.
Thanks heaps!
I stopped using Powerpoint for videos when I got Camtasia.
I made a video about 4 years ago on creating a video with Powerpoint. The audio is absolute crap because this was when I had a really lousy microphone.

My videos using PowerPoint 2007 and WonderShare PPT2 Video Pro were of exceptionally high quality. That is why I am sooooo disappointed with PowerPoint 2016.😞
Hi Ladies! A lot of what you're both saying is Greek to me. As much as I'd like to, I do not have the time to learn all these things. We all can't be experts at everything! That's why I try to find people like you guys who can say, do this, then this, then this, and it's done! Should I try spend time learning Shotcut? I remember looking at Camtasia a while back, when I first started making videos for my class. Do you both think I should look to that instead?
Do what ever is easiest for you to do Terry, after all, you are the one creating your videos.
If you have your audio file and your HD PowerOoint video that simply need merging then Shotcut would be the fastest. Plus, Shotcut is free.
Camtasia may be your best bet going forward, creating future videos, but I don't know for certain as I have never used Camtasia (and, I would imagine there is a cost), so will let Marion suggest tutorials on using this software.
Hi Marion. To record my narrations I've been using the Insert > Aduio > record Audio, you know, where you get the little loud speaker. I'd like to do something better -- like Audacity -- as you use in your video. Should I do that, and then learn Camtasia for to make it a video, instead of saving as mp4?
Thanks so much again, for the rapid reply. I'm about to start from scratch on the next video, so I asked Marion what she things about
Camtasia. But happy to have the other as well. I really DO want to learn all of this, because I DO want to make great design history videos for my web site!! I just don't have a lot of time right now. After May 15, better.
I hear ya' loud and clear Terry, and necessity for a quick resolve is how I come to finding the resolve I discussed in my post. Am hoping that info will help others suffering from PowerPoint's lack of working properly.
You can also Google search for instructions on Camstasia. Marion lives in Australia, so we need to be are that Australia is in the opposite time zone to EST.
Thanks. I just starting fooling around with Shotcut. Will let you know. And hey, what is your NAME?
Camtasia is not free and has a steep learning curve. But there's a lot of built-in help and videos on YouTube to help you learn how to do things. Send me a PM for my affiliate link if you're thinking about getting Camtasia.
If your videos are less then 15 minutes then take a look at https://screencast-o-matic.com/ it's free but it has a watermark.
Hey Terry,
Am sending you a URL in a private message that will help you resolve this.
Hope this works for you too.

Hi. I have several old "drafts" -- revisions -- of things I've written, and want to get rid of them. But I don't see how to delete them. Anyone know?
Hey Terry,
Here's a tutorial I created awhile ago now: Cleaning Your WP Database - Does it Really Need to be Done? and removing revisions is one of the ways to optimize your WordPress database.
Hope you find this helpful.

I love WA and I've been slowly (like, over 1 year+) working on the training, my site (off-line) learning WordPress, (in between other jobs, life, etc). My niche will probably
looks like a cheaper version of clickfunnels.
you can create this sort of page within your site - yes it may take you a day or two, but check out jay's landing page webinar and it may help a little
just remember there is no easy money.
but with all of these types of app - where is the traffic coming from?
a one page site will not rank, so it will be paid traffic - and ads for the paid traffic.
worth going through the whole cycle and identifying what it is you are getting.
good luck if you go for it.
watch out for sos ( shiny object syndrome) - we all get it.

Has anyone done the samcart training?
