The only thing dumb about a question is not to ask
Why is it so hard for some to ask a question if they are uncertain of something?
Maybe you just don't know how to word it properly, pretty common especially when trying something that an individual has never done before (also looking at myself for this point).
Pride can be a big one for many, the thought of seeking help on something that seems like it should be so simple and obvious can be a pretty big blow to a persons ego so the most common solution that comes to mind is to wait and hope somebody else to ask it for them.
It's irrelevant or a waste of time. This may seem like a slight extension of pride and ego but the fact is many are afraid to ask because even though it is something they are curious about, they feel it is not important or it is something they should already know and don't want to be a burden to others with something that should seem like common sense.
Whatever the reasoning for holding yourself back from asking a question the thing to realize is we are all at different levels and all have different skills to offer to assist in helping each other become better than yesterday.
never be ashamed to ask, even people like Kyle and Carson were green at one point in their lives, we all are taking on this adventure at WA having different levels of knowledge coming from different backgrounds that can be helpful to somebody.
Say computers and technical skills hold you back but you come from a background that a technical person wan'ts to take on as a niche there is an opportunity presented for both individuals to learn and excel from each other and now what was once holding you back presents the opportunity to help somebody else where you once struggled.
A simple question can open endless doors to success so for that reason alone I'd have to truly say there are no dumb ones. this is an amazing community and always somebody willing to help.

You've reinforced what I feel about WA. I definitely won't hesitate to ask. Especially with nudging from people like you. Thanks.
Thanks Duncan. This is something that actually took me a long time (more than half my life) to figure out. learn from one another and our own mistakes is how we grow.
Such a good post Trevor, one of the amazing aspects of WA the depth of knowledge, it is so good to be able to tap into it.

Good post. I like the correlation made between the student asking the question the teacher then uses for their site.
