You Changed the Heading on the WA Homepage

You will notice the WA webpage changed as shown here:

Now, hit the Refresh button and it returns to what the WA webpage still appears as.

I hope everyone is with me so far. Okay. that was the easy part of the lesson. I wanted to first show you how to change text on a webpage. You can also change numerical parameters. Go into your WA space and you will see a familiar looking screen. Notice along the top, there is the black bar and right under it has the activity dashboard followed by activity, classrooms, Top 10, My Notifications, etc. Suppose we wanted to add what is know as "padding" between the top black bar and the rest of the webpage. First the top of our WA screen looks like this (before shot):

Sign into WA and bring up your Firebug code box. Note the code box where I have highlighted in yellow the code we will change. Currently it says 42px. That line of code is telling us that there are 42 pixels located within the padding from the top.

Now change that 42 to 100 as shown here:

What happened? You should see the following. Note there is a large gap between the top black bar and the rest of the webpage

And just like before, you can hit the refresh button and it returns to normal.
