In this last section of the training, I want to introduce you to a few tools that can help you as you get started. I would learn the basics first, lurk to see what is happening, then draw up a plan using the basic package you start with...

Once you understand and have some posts under your belt, are building your 'karma' score, and feel confident enough to take on more, have a look at some of these tools...

SOME ADVANCED TOOLS OF REDDIT

There are a number of advanced tools that you can use to get the most out of the platform. I will cover some here and provide one link to another tool that Robert has added for your use as well...

(1) IFTTT.

This is a handy tool that allows you to connect to other social tools you may want to use to leverage your time and effort. It stands for 'If This Then That' and is something that is entering our lives in more and more aspects (think gadgets, electronics, etc.). Very helpful if you are like me and busy all the time and looking for ways to be more efficient...

(2) REDDIT PICS.

This is another add on that can help your program...It scrapes all of Reddit to find any pictures that may pertain to your niche all on one handy page. You can display up to 200 on pne page. A time saver indeed!

(3) SUBREDDIT FINDER.

This little tool will help you keep up with what is going on with subreddits that either directly relate to your niche or maybe are complementary to your niche. If you followed my tutorial, you will realize what this tool can do for you!

(4) REDDIT ENHANCEMENT SUITE.

This is a set of features that will help you browse the huge world of Reddit and all the content that is added constantly...It will also help you stay active on the site because you can then comment etc.

(5) MOBILE APPS.

There are too many to list, but all are designed to make your Reddit experience more accessible on mobile devices, whether using Apple, Android, or Microsoft operating systems. It is good to know that you can stay active almost no matter where you are...

(6) ROBERT'S KEYWORD TOOL.

Robert has added some training here for you also on signing up for an account (hence it is not included in my tutorial) and a keyword tool that will help you identify the subreddits that may fit with your niche. It will save you time and allow you to quickly gather data so you can plan and take action...

WRAP UP

So in this very brief overview of Reddit we covered what the platform is, how it works, why you should use it to drive traffic and build your business, some types of posts you can plan for, and also mentioned cautions to be aware of.

The Reddit platform is a lot different than many of the forums you may be a part of...It has some similarities to Quora in some aspects, but goes a lot further from my experience.

As with Quora, you can add some links back to your website if done in a manner that is not going to cause you grief by bringing on the wrath of those Reddit members that take joy in tearing up another member...

The best way to avoid that is to always post quality and valuable content, add something unique to the platform and subject(s), and do not be too pushy or at all spammy with your content.

I wish you all the best of luck and please let me know what you thought of the tutorial below, and more importantly, let's discuss Reddit and how or if it might be useful for your online marketing programs!

Cheers!

Dave : )

Good stuff. I occasionally post on Reddit. I try not to post on there all the time as I don't want to spam the boards. Plus, it is also good to interact with other posts the board before posting.

Yes, lots of interesting subreddits to look at...I too am more of a lurker up to this point...I wanted to really understand how it all works before just jumping in...Those that use it for spamming do not last long hehe...Definitely, the platform requires a strategy when proceeding...I agree with you, it is better to start interaction with a subreddit group prior to posting your own stuff...Thanks for adding to the conversation....Cheers! Hi Dave really good to see a tutorial with some real actionable information in it, really appreciate your take on things, Not currently using Reddit but feel that I am well placed to make some positive gains after viewing and implementing some of the tips and advice in this training thank you.One of the things that were putting me off to a degree was the need to be aware of offending other members. Like all things, it is all about being aware and adapting accordingly.Thank you much, appreciated.

Thanks, Alexander...This platform is one of the most interesting to me so far, in that there is a lot of very informed people (and some not so much hehe) that like to add their thoughts into a conversation...These people that take the time to do so are also more likely to take action with your offers if you can entice them over to your website! Cheers! Dave : )

Glad it may be of use to you...The thing I like is there is a huge audience and they can be very targeted users that you interact with...As you build your reputation and 'karma' your voice will command attention, and these folks that listen are already primed to take action...Cheers! Dave : )
