Using Facebook
There should be a natural flow of visitors from your website to Facebook and back to your website again – that’s what you want to be seeing and that is what the experiment is about.
When somebody visits your website you can invite them to follow you on Facebook in a number of ways. You should let them know why they need to keep an eye on your Facebook site and then you need to follow through by regularly posting on Facebook. If you don’t do this there’s no point in having a Facebook page. Remember though, spend 5% (or less) of your time on Facebook and 95% on your website, so don’t read the words ‘regularly post’ as meaning ‘this is more work for me to do’ because it isn’t.
Getting Followers
One nice way of asking your visitors to follow you on Facebook is to dedicate one page to Facebook on your website. In this 'dedication page' you can explain the benefits of following you such as:
- they will be the first to hear about the latest news,
- they can be the first to comment on new articles and reviews you have written,
- you will give them special discounts through Facebook on your own products (ebooks and courses you created, etc).
The list can be quite varied.
Creating a dedicated page
In the Word Press editor click the Add New Page and give it a name such as ‘Facebook follow’ or ‘follow me’ etc. Next, add your content and publish it.
Finally, go to the area in your website theme (usually in Appearances – Menu) where you can make the page a sub-page of one of your tabs or put it on the main menu and save it.
