1. SendinBlue (plugin): SendinBlue is an email marketing service provider. It covers email marketing, transactional emails and mobile text messaging. It is dedicated to both beginners and advanced users. It comes with a free membership option that covers all the features. There is a limit of 9,000 emails per/month and the newsletter builder is only available for 60 days.

SendinBlue has its own WordPress plugin. It offers a lot of options and comes with all the features you would expect to have. Setting up the plugin is very easy. Go to your account and copy/paste your API and Secret Keys. Once you do this, you can start creating email marketing campaigns right from the WordPress website.

2. OptinMonster: This plugin is a great list building tool. It is more lightweight than the others because it's modular. It means that if you want to use only one kind of subscription form, you can only install this module, not the whole package.

One of the main features is the exit intent pop-up, which allows you to "catch" the visitors exactly when they are just about to leave your site. The plugin achieves this by tracking mouse speed and the visitors gestures.

After installing and activating the plugin, in the setup, you just have to select what kind of form you want to show on your website (i.e., Lightbox, Footer Bar, Slide In). Next, you have to configure it: choose the opt-in title, the duration, the design of the opt-in and customize it. Everything is very easy to grasp.

Thanks for this great training Ed. Email marketing is something I'm intending to do but just haven't got around to it. Your training is inspiring me to make a start with at least one of my sites.

I'm very happy to be of service to you. You know, I think several of us intend to start an email campaign but with all the demands on our lives, it gets put off--myself included! Thank you for sharing Valerie...

Really? I was working on it, not expecting it to kind of shut me down at 4 pages, but I was prompted to publish it. So I did. Is 4 pages the minimum? Cause someone else blogged asking about the requirements.
Thank you Loes!

Yes 4 pages is the minimun, beside that, when you click on save, it will not be displayed and you can access the training for adjustments. When published you can go on top and click on the cog, edit, and after that you publish again
