Below are some of the most common myths that could be ruining your business strategy:

Myth 1: Email Marketing is dead

This is the most pervasive myth on email marketing and it has affected many businesses. However, the naysayers will just remain that; naysayers.

All studies show that email marketing still remains the king of ROI. A study by Campaign Monitor shows that email marketing has an ROI of 3800% with a return of $38 for every $1 used.

McKinsey research also has a similar study showing that email enjoys 40% more effectiveness than social media. Truth be told; email is a major driver of traffic to most websites that are ranking on top of search engine result pages (SERPs) in every niche.

Myth 2: Customers dislike frequent emails

Many business owners believe this myth and usually restrict their e-mails to once a week to avoid looking too pushy. Actually, the opposite is true according to a variety of studies including one done by HubSpot study.

Customers that receive frequent emails are likely to read them and even go ahead to click on the links inside. It is also advisable to include at least two or three links or more as most customers will click on them resulting in a conversion or sale.

Great training!

One comment about transactional emails having a high open rate is that it is not surprising, but expected. Because transactional emails are in response to a transaction. For example, confirmation of a purchase or notice of shipment. Or even account info in response to a lost password.
