A SMART goal means that it's specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. But the important part is that you create a goal that fits your audience, can be researched, is something that can be measured, and has a time limit. The time limit is essential so that you know when to check your numbers. Set up each platform fully so that you can understand what it can do for you, how to reach your customers, and meet the goals that you set.

Establish Your Brand Voice

One of your goals for social media marketing starts with establishing a brand voice. The best way to do that is to know who your audience is and then how you want to appeal to them. Then ensure that you write it down so that you can look at it before you create any content, as well as share it with anyone who will be making any content for you.

 Character – Are you going to be friendly, playful, warm, authoritative, or something else? Define the type of character or persona your business will project.

 Tone – This is also an important factor in your branding voice. Do you want people to perceive your brand as scientific, direct, motherly, personal, or something else?

 Language - Do you want to use jargon, show your savvy side, or be serious? It's up to you what type of language you use depending on your audience's needs.

 Purpose – Each time you create a message for social media, it's essential to know the purpose of that message. Do you want to engage, educate, motivate, or sell something? When you know how you want the message to be perceived by your audience, it's going to make it a lot simpler to create the content. Your brand voice may grow and develop over time, but try to keep it consistent so that they can tell it's you wherever you are adding content.

Thank You!!
I've got the site, the posts and the pages - now I need to tackle social media and engagement. I'm an introvert so this is probably the part that scares me the most. This training has lots of points that will help me along the way. Thank you for compiling it.

Catherine, This is an interesting review of the whole process of Social Media Marketing. Sometimes it is difficult to remember all the ins and outs, and having a lesson like this is a good way to revisit the ways you can use social media.
Thanks,

This was some excellent training and I will bookmark it for all the pears of wisdom I found.

I've been struggling with social media as I'm not a very social person but now I see that I need a better focused approach.

Thanks so much.
