Engage with Your Community to Build Relationships

You've likely been part of online communities before where random people post "drive-by questions." Don't be one of those people. You want to engage with your community in an authentic way, so it's essential to understand how to really engage in a way that builds relationships. It All Starts with Listening Social media is a great place to listen to your audience. Any question they ask and any answers you see are great ways to get information about them to use in other content that will truly resonate with your audience. Ask the Right Questions Instead of asking any question and then never going back to see the answers or engaging, ask the correct type of questions.

When you share a blog post, for example, ask them what resonated with them or what their main takeaway is from the blog post. Tell yours and ask follow-up questions from the people who answer. Use Emojis and Gifs One issue with communicating online on social media is that it's hard to show tone. But that's what emojis are for. When you use emojis, you can show if you're serious or whether you're silly. It helps explain the tone and helps your audience understand you more. Use Images and Video When you're communicating on social media, including images and/or video is a better way to help explain your thoughts in a transparent manner. Plus, when you use images, it's even more likely to be shared and engaged with, which makes building relationships even easier. Final Thoughts… Remember that social media marketing is one of the best ways to engage with and build relationships with your community. You can use several tactics to make the most of your social media marketing, but remember that to do well, you need to know why you're doing it (goals), who you're doing it for (your audience), and what the goals of your business are. When you can match your audience with what they want right when they want it, you'll win the social media marketing game.

Thank You!!
I've got the site, the posts and the pages - now I need to tackle social media and engagement. I'm an introvert so this is probably the part that scares me the most. This training has lots of points that will help me along the way. Thank you for compiling it.

Catherine, This is an interesting review of the whole process of Social Media Marketing. Sometimes it is difficult to remember all the ins and outs, and having a lesson like this is a good way to revisit the ways you can use social media.
Thanks,

This was some excellent training and I will bookmark it for all the pears of wisdom I found.

I've been struggling with social media as I'm not a very social person but now I see that I need a better focused approach.

Thanks so much.
