Phew! The previous page was quite extensive wasn't it?
Not to worry, this one is a lot more straightforward with only two steps.
Step One: Sync your Facebook and Twitter accounts with Tumblr.
This will be the setting that allows Tumblr to automatically share on your FB and Twitter profiles when you create a new post.
First, go to "settings".
You will be taken to the settings page and see a menu on the left with 5 options. Account, Dashboard, Email, Apps, and the title of your blog will be the final one. Click on this one.
Scroll down to where you can see Facebook and Twitter mentioned, here you can sign-in with those accounts (if you have them) and voila! It's done.
Step Two: Set up your "Ask Box".
Scroll up a little from the Facebook sync area and you will see this section:
This is the section that controls whether people can ask you questions via your askbox (like a personal comments section). Only the questions that you answer will appear on your blog, so don't worry about spam. You can also choose who can reply to your blog, I think the "...people following you for more than two weeks" is a nice touch and keeps your blog spam-free.
Additional: If you check the "submissions" box, you allow people to submit posts to your blog (they will go into the submissions queue for your approval), you can set submissions guidelines, optional tags, and submission post types. This is essentially automating a "guest-blog" section of your site.
