You've done it, congratulations!

The only thing that put me off from joining Tumblr sooner was that it looked like a lot of work to set up and learn. Hopefully I have saved you the time of figuring everything out and you are now good to go.

Before I send you on your merry way, here are some final tips for using Tumblr.
  1. Queue up and/or draft your posts to save time. If you have a piece of inspiration and want to write multiple posts at the same time but have them published at intervals for maximum exposure, it is simple here. On the top right tab when creating a post, just change "publish now" to a date or interval of your choosing.
  2. Don't post too little or too much, you don't want to spam, and you don't want your followers to forget you. A little experimentation should let you find the balance.
  3. Opinions are not a bad thing. Everyone is different and having your own opinion on things will draw attention to what you are doing. Obviously keep it respectful, but don't be afraid to speak your mind.
  4. Don't worry about followers. If you create original and interesting content, they will come, there is no formula for how many you should have, and don't try to compete with others. Tumblr has a pretty nice "family" feel to it.
  5. Always tag your posts where possible, and always include links to your site where possible. This is pretty self-explanatory, but it is important to always think about driving traffic to your site. I added "where possible" though, because you don't want to just spam your links all over the place.
  6. Optional: After creating your tumblr page, why not comment below with a link to your profile, I'm sure everyone would like to add each other and learn together.

Thanks for reading, I hope this has been some help to you and that you 'like' what you see. Add me up! http://itseasytostop.tumblr.com/

My teenage daughter is one of Tumblr''s biggest disciple. She likes it much more than Facebook.

The more I use it the more useful and enjoyable I find it to be, facebook is great for keeping in touch with friends (or trying to) but tumblr is a much better way of seeing and learning new things, as well as potentially making new friends!

This is a great idea! I've stayed away from tumblr myself because it looked very overwhelming, but I do believe I'll set up an account this evening. Thanks for sharing this!
