I'm a writer first and an editor second. What this means is you should focus on writing your article first, and then go back and make the edits. This will take some practice, but eventually it will click and before you know it you'll be completing articles much quicker.
What I do is write paragraphs 3-4 sentences long, on average. As soon as I'm done with one paragraph, I move straight onto the next. While I do that, I refer back to by blueprint. Also, I rarely reread what I wrote after completing a paragraph, nor do I check my grammar or perform spellchecks. Instead, I complete the article and then I'll reread it and fix it up as I go along.
To sum up the above, when the time comes to write:
- I write until I'm done
- No grammar checking as I go
- Edit after I'm done
- Keep paragraphs 3-4 sentences long
- Bang out a paragraph, move onto the next
Note: Although I've been following this advice for a very longtime, I do sometimes have to stop myself from grammar checking and rereading as I'm writing. This usually kills my flow, but thankfully I don't do it often.
I know the above won't be for everyone, but it works for me. I suggest practicing by writing articles about topics you're already familiar with. Even if it's not for your website or blog, you should still do it.
