When it comes to research, spend between 15-20 minutes on research. If you're writing on a topic that is relatively unfamiliar to you, then spend up to 30 minutes on research. Also, use three resources you can turn to for your research.

Using solely search engines can be daunting for a lot of people. I suggest using one search engine (Google, Yahoo etc. . .), one video sharing site (YouTube, Vimeo etc. . .) and one social media site. Search for your topic, and then conduct your research.

Set a timer for between 15-30 minutes. Use that time-frame to just do research and don't stop researching until the timer is up or once you've gotten enough info to write your article.

To quickly sum up the above:

  • Set a timer for 15-30 minutes
  • Use three resources to use for research
  • Use a search engine, video sharing site and one social media site
  • Do not copy and paste (BIG NO NO)

After you conduct your research, you should be able to bang out your article.

Thanks Nathan. Great article. I have hit a "writer's block" these past two days, and needed some encouragement. This article was perfectly timed.
Best to you.

That's a nice system you got going on. I sort of do the same thing but usually spend to much time on the research. Great advice and thanks for the great tips.
