Let's Discuss Feedback
At the outset, let's make a distinction between Comments and Feedback - they are two ENTIRELY different entities - NOT at all the same.
One is something you like and you encourage someone and inspire them with your comment, the other is constructive input to help them improve with feedback.
If you don't know what to say, don't comment and don't give feedback. Rather learn from other people's successful Comments and Feedback, than feeling rejected when someone disapproves your Comment and Feedback.
Here Are A Few Suggestions For Giving Feedback
1/ Be polite and professional. Don't use language that is unacceptable. You don't want to have your Feedback rejected. No one likes to be rejected and disapproved, so do it right the first time.
2/ Feedback is giving constructive input to the creator of the website, in order for the person to improve it.
3/ When someone leaves feedback on your website, you have the option to Reply or Not To Reply to the feedback. Ultimately the decision lies with YOU whether you will or won't Reply to the feedback.
4/ If you would like feedback for your site, you can click on the blue Request Website Feedback Here button and this is where you access the FeedbackPay It Forward Platform. Here you are required, first to GIVE two Feedbacks to OTHER people's websites, THEN you may request Feedback for YOUR website.

I have been through lots of critiques in my design careers; (interior design in school and web design from clients). Good feedback is not subjective comments like "It's too dark". That is a design preference statement. A more constructive statement would be like, "The text color is too hard to read with its background color-there needs to be more contrast".
Something like that about design principles and elements which also include layout, but are not limited to visuals. Even writing can be addressed. One thing I do and catch myself is to use the same words too often. So it can get boring and repetitious to do that and if that were pointed out it would be constructive and helpful to me.
I have seen some unimpressive web designs on the first pages of Google, (not anyone here . . . just when browsing), so I don't think the search engines see design but it is good to pay attention to it anyway, LOL.
