I am doing SEO for a dog breeder in UK. When I try to get local with Jaaxy it is not as good as general for this. Great results for the breed and particular words except for w

When you do a search in Google, you will notice that in the upper right of the page, you will see a small icon that looks like a person (private results) and another that looks like a globe.
By default, Google displays your private results which is based on things like your prior search habits and your location, unless you click the globe to turn off private results
That is why, when searching for your site ranking, we use an incognito window, to make sure we are seeing the accurate results that others would be seeing and not our own personal results.
Hope that makes sense

Thank you and yes it does make sense. I was wondering if when the site is up say for a couple of weeks, then someone in the UK does a search for the generic term, does Google know to display a local business before a business in the US or somewhere far away, because a breeder in the US would be of no use to the searcher in the UK. Like why would someone travel to the US to get a dog bred or purchase the puppies, if they can do it locally? I did find out the Google does display the top three local results. The weirdest thing though is that once I started putting in their location for keyword research, to get more specific, there was nothing. < 10 searches so I am using the ones that work and have good results and hopefully they can get to page one in their locale this way. Thanks again and love the idea of the incognito window. ; )

yeah, i understand.
That's the trick with keyword research, to find the words that people are actually searching for that has little competition unlike the one you mentioned with less than 10 searches

Thanks for sharing this Forrest ! ...

Sorry for the double post. I wanted to edit my original question and not sure I could do that. I don't really need an answer anymore but if anyone wants to comment that is great.

So I found out from a site, (not allowed to leave link yet) that there used to be 7 SER for local businesses and they dropped it to 3 around Auguse 2015 and now there are more paid ads on top so apparently according to this author, if one does not get into the top three spots, they probably won't be on page one. ; ( As long as I know they are local results it should be fine cause I found some really good ones . . . one has 15 potential hits and 0 competitors. Yay!

I would also tend to think that if you are doing a local business that someone would likely be searching for something like, dog breeder in london or something along those lines

It is a physical service so won't be of any use if someone in the US searches and finds them . .. see?

You are correct, I believe.

When I do a search in google it generally comes up with searches in the UK, you can always go to google.co.uk

Trying to find out what other sites are doing for certain keywords and using Jaaxy. When I type in just simple keywords to test, (cause I got the response below for what I was

Have you tried using WA's keyword tool over on the left? It's under "Tools". See if that makes a difference - Perhaps Jaaxy's servers are just acting up today.

Thanks so much. Yeah it is Friday night so maybe just lots of requests? Also using Pro and not the higher level for more power, LOL.
I will try the keyword tool here too but I did not know it has the Search Analysis feature to see all the lists of the competing sites with their stats and breakdown of info.

Thanks again!

Been busy updating lots of policies on my web design sites so I can answer my leads and the prospects can go there. Also had a real problem client who would not commit to anyt

It usually takes a few days for Kyle to answer PMs but he always responds. Don't ask other people to contact him on your behalf because he gets swamped with PMs every day and more than one person asking the same question is just going to delay his response.

You can access your website using yoursite.com/wp-admin with the username and password you get from Site Manager. Just in case your return is delayed I recommend that you back up your website so you don't lose your content. http://wealthyaffiliatetv.com/back-up-wealthy-affiliate-website ~Marion

Hey Marion,

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have asked a couple of times about this "9 day" thing. Do you know if I will still be able to take part in the training and converse for this amount of time? So far I see that the payment failed and I am here talking to you but have not tried to access training yet. Any news on this specifically would be good.

Glo

Sorry, I've never put it to the test so I don't know the answer :(

Good luck.

Looks like there is no more info about the 9 day thing so I will PM Kyle. Thanks all!

First off, you still have access to WA for about nine days. After that period, you still can work on site by using the websitename.com/wp-admin log in. You can re-subscribe within 30 days and nothing changes. If you want to leave WA, you need to transfer your site to another hosting company

John

Thanks John. So I can log in and still see tutorials, (forgot to ask that specifically) and won't be locked out of anything for 9 days? For real?

Hi glodesigns. This should answer some of your questions:

Thanks electrobot. I did read that post and good info. I understand that all "my stuff" will still be here but really wanted to know if I can still work on the sites and forgot to ask if there is like a "grace period" where I can still log in and work on sites and see training. John above says that I can still access for 9 days and I am wondering if some privileges are restricted.

If you don't get any responses providing the info you need, send Kyle a PM and if you still stuck, let me know and I'll ask for you.

Great response, TopAchiever. Nice offer to ask for her. I'm impressed that you would be willing to go out of your way to help. Just wanted to say thanks for your example. I continue to see great things in this community, and it's people like you that continue to make WA a great place to be. Thanks again.

Hey TopAchiever,

Thanks to you too. The 9 days thing that John spoke of sounds awesome but I need to know specifically what I can and cannot do.

Getting discouraged is not in my make up so I will keep looking and do the PM thing in a few hours.

G

Send me a PM if you need further assistance, that way I will be in the know quicker than here on your post/blog.

@Electrobot - you've just made my day! Thank you so much! ;-)

Here's the thing; I know I can get my passwords and work on my sites. That is not a problem. I also know I will be able to get the payment in within one month.

I am just kind of disappointed cause I wanted to spend the weekend doing training and watching videos. I just got my policies done on my other sites and now ready again to spread myself out to work here as the web design thing is the only thing paying the bills for now, I had to do some of that. Plus the new policies will help with problem clients or thieves so it has been a long time coming.

Yes that is a super considerate thing you are offering for me; especially since I made this into such a crisis by not asking sooner. I don't know when Kyle is on so how will I know whether he will answer today?

I am adding the Page Titles to All-In-One SEO and wonder if I should put in just "About" since that is the page name, or should I put in "About with Site Name"? Would it matter

I guess a better way to ask this is even tho' on the menu and Page Title the page is "About" would it help with SEO to put in SEO Title "About site name"?

Looks like your question has been answered.

Thank you Alleo. Yes as with most things in life there are different schools of thought. I am surprised that no one else has an opinion but would love to hear yours in any case.

In my particular issue it could actually do some good as the phrase "about . .then my site name" is something that people search for. I had to go out soon after I got that one reply and now I have to go SEO searching to see its popularity and competition in Jaaxy.

Chime in if you would like! ; )

You don't need to worry about SEO for your about page :)

Hey Steve,

I appreciate the idea. Turns out I cannot find out a single thing about SEO for an About page.

Looking into it further, which I am very good at, and thinking laterally, it is important from a branding standpoint. So I searched "can I brand myself" and incidentally I happen to have many sites in different niches so eventually I think it will help to develop that page for the branding of the site/name primarily and then further down actually add a bit about me and what else I do, so I continue to develop a personality/identity that will flow through all the sites and establish me as someone to be trusted, no matter what are the dealings with me that any given visitor has.

I am going to with my second option and trusting my gut and calling the page About (then site name) so everyone knows this About page is about this site. I have done this in a site builder once and it showed up great so don't think it will be penalized or anything as it is name what it is about.

The thing is that even tho' it might not be a particularly content-rich page, I don't think it should be neglected either and I see it as a great opportunity to tell some more intimate stuff that some would want to know. I think any page should be useful tho' of course not more than others.

So I know what you mean by "not worrying" but it seems that I need the exposure so I will treat it like the other pages and add something to the All In One SEO anyway.

That's fine if you think it will help. I've had many people visit my about page and I didn't even index it! Is your site name going to be a highly searched term and will putting "about" before your site name get more searches?

WOW I never thought of that but yes . .. the name, (site name and domain are the same) is actually considered a phrase that someone would search so cool. That works out and thanks a lot. ; ) As in "all about . . .

I would use the second choice. It will help your visitors

Hey Shawn,

Thanks so much but I hope I am making it clear, I am not talking about the title on the page but the boxes in the All In One SEO . Like where you put in the SEO Title, then SEO Description, then SEO Keywords.

So you think it is good to put in "About Site Name"? Actually there won't be much about me if anything on that page.

Also then would it be even better that on my blog page in the same space for it I should put "Site Name Blog" in SEO Title? BTW I have the blog in a later spot and not on the Home page.

I am thinking that everywhere on the web there are so many pages named "About" or "Blog" and wondered if it might help the search engines to put up that page cause it knows it belongs to the site since I named those pages with the site name too.

A very good question that I can not answer, lol. Lets see what kind of responses we get from the community.
