Hey there and welcome back...

With this lesson we are going to take a look at the process of making money online. From a MLM perspective, traditional sales processes have centred around the network marketing model where sales are undertaken in person with those within your own 'network'. i.e. You convince people to attend parties and then invite their friends as well...

From an online perspective, we are simply expanding our network to the entire internet meaning that whilst we have access to a whole new range of customers, there are no personal connections on which to rely on.

With that in mind, let's start here by looking at what the training is covering:

Training Outline

The training discusses the process of making money online as per the following diagram:

To put this into perspective, think about your own behaviour when it comes to online shopping. There is a great chance that you follow the exact process above (from a customer's point of view obviously). This is what we are going to focus on for our MLM sales.

Before we get to that however, your training tasks are:

1. Complete the "Understanding How to Make Money Online" training by clicking on the link below:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur...

2. Record your financial goals - this may incorporate rank, down line or PV requirements within your MLM program if applicable.

MLM Influences

Ok, so let's look at this in relation to your own MLM program.

Step 1 - Customer

Ask yourself a question - Who is your customer?

We will discuss this a bit more in the next lesson in regards to your niche, but from the perspective of your own MLM program, try and think of who your actual customer is.

Consider:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Interests/hobbies
  • Cultural influences (broadly based on where they live and/or current fashions etc.)

And depending upon the products sold within your program also consider:

  • Health status
  • Average income
  • Occupation
  • Family status
  • Other product specific influences

These influences determine both what it is that the customer searches for online and how they may do it. We will refer back to this constantly throughout our training.

Step 2 - Your Site

As we have already discussed, this is the tool you will use to attract sales and down line members. In the next lesson we will discuss ensuring that it is aimed in the right direction.

Step 3 - Customer Buys Product

These are your MLM products - sold either via your own site or linked into the personalised website (effectively your sales page) on the MLM platform.

Step 4 - You Make Money

Goes without saying...

Financial Goals

From an Affiliate Marketing point of view, goals are set to basically establish how much work is required to reach them. Within MLM programs, these goals are usually set up for us in terms of:

  • Monthly sales targets to qualify for commissions.
  • Downline recruitment requirements.
  • 'Starter kit' purchases.
  • Rank progression requirements.
  • Other bonus payment triggers.

There are obviously plenty of others dependent upon the relevant compensation plan.

Now, as we start to work through the rest of this training, we need to ensure that we are establishing our website based not only on the cusotmer analysis informration above, but the targets we are trying to achieve as well.

An example of this would be to outline the advantages of purchasing a pack over an individual product or in setting up auto shipping etc.

So, based on all of that, here are your MLM related tasks for today:

  1. Clarify your customer base.
  2. Familiarise yourself with the compensation plan of your MLM program (everything in it, not just the base commissions) - know the triggers, prerequsities etc. as well.
  3. Start to map out your own personal financial goals - how much do you really want to earn from this process.

See you at the next lesson - oh, and just as a preparation, think about what it is that your MLM company sells.

See you then

Paul

Tasks 0/3 completed
1. Write down the characteristics of your customer base
2. Reread your compensation plan and note payment triggers and options
3. Record your own personal financial goals or MLM targets

Very intrersting concept. I was burned (as in cremated) several times in several MLM's - good companies. I was not MLM material. USANA, ACN, my last two attempts. I am happy to grow in WA, feeling it is better for my skills and personality. IF I can get the handle on creating menus. It makes sense to me in the training. As soon as I face the workspace, I lose focus and end of with "garbage output."
So I'm proceeding forward. I dumped MLM a few years back, and emptying my cupboards, halls and garage of the remnants of my hopeful splurges in promotional products. You know the story...

It appears you found a great answer. wishing you the best of it all!
