Niche Selection

Alright, you've come to the conclusion you want to make six figures online. In order to do this and to use my strategy you'll need to choose the right niche.

Here's what I look for in a niche:

1) Must be fairly broad and not too narrow.

2) Must have at least 50 best of posts I can write and preferably best of posts with the year that get traffic.

That's basically it. If you want to read all my thoughts on choosing a niche, click here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...

Some people try to make this way more complicated than it has to be but follow those two suggestions and you'll be fine.

Just so you're a hundred percent sure about this I'll show you how to do this.

First go to Amazon and click the departments tab on the left and under the search bar. It'll bring you to this page: https://www.amazon.com/gp/site...

If you clicked that link you'll see that Amazon basically organizes things in different niches. There's large departments like home and garden, electronics, automotive, sports and outdoors, beauty and health. In each large departments there's sub groups too, like bed and bath, furniture, pet supplies, home theater, musical instruments, etc.

Any one of these niches has 6 figure potential and for the sake of this training we'll look at Kitchen and Dining.

Click this link to look at the kitchen and dining section: https://www.amazon.com/kitchen...

They organize everything into keywords!

Are they the keywords we're looking for, though? Go to the next section to find out!

Love your strategy, I’ve been following your posts for quite some time now and will definitely implement this. The question I have is this:

Does it have to be amazon products or could it be other affiliate links? If I want to have a travel blog for example could I do ‘best places to visit in Berlin 2018’ but, instead of products, have links to things like booking.com and Airbnb??

It’s more of a hiking/travel blog but I’d also like to do place reviews (as well as hiking gear).

Thanks! Stephen.

Regarding the URL. Does it matter that the URL keyword has a significantly different QSR than the full keyword in the title? For instance "Best slow cookers 2017" has a QSR of 11 and "Best slow cookers" has a QSR of 200. So when you shorten the URL and change the keyword, the QSR changes pretty significantly.

Also what if there is no traffic for a keyword with the year? For instance "Best Recliners" vs "Best Recliners 2018". No traffic for "Best Recliners 2018" but decent amount for "Best Recliners". Is it okay to just add 2018 to the title? Permalink would still be shortened.

You'll still rank for best slow cookers 2018 if you get rid of the year in the url. And don't look for keywords with 2018 yet. Check with 2017. If it gets traffic in 2017 it'll get traffic in 2018. Best recliners 2017 gets plenty of traffic.

Try not to overthink this too much.

Hi Dylan, I'm back here to tell you that your strategy really worked! It takes time but I have seen results in a week after publishing my post. That was possible because my site was around for 2 months but nonetheless, it still worked! Thank you once again for sharing :) i hope you reach 10k/mth soon!

Thanks! And wait until your website hits the 6th month mark and more - that's when the real results. Just keep writing.

Awesome post my friend, I'm in the spiritual self development niche which doesn't seem to be the most profitable for best of posts but I have noticed a high search volume for key words such as "the best yoga mats of 2017" or "the best meditation apps of 2017" so I'm gonna dive right into it.

Hi there! Thanks for the training, really great stuff. I am just venturing into becoming an Amazon affiliate so this is just what I needed. Could you tell me, are you using the EasyAzon plugin still or do you use the onelink option in Amazon associates to promote multiple associates programs?

Many thanks,

Andrew

I just use Onelink.. it works pretty good

Right, thanks. I just set up Onelink today. Although lots of the items that I am promoting in the US aren't available on the UK site, I guess I could still earn some extra commission with it.
