You being passionate about natural healing methods with herbs and homeopathy I would like to share this with you and the community. You may have already come across it. It's a real eye-opener and would bode very well for the research you obviously like to do on the things you write about.
As many of us know we are constantly being bombarded with untruths and misinformation by the food industry, big pharma and most of the medical "profession" about what we put in our bodies and how to deal with what makes us ill.
The book is titled "No Grain No Pain" by Dr. Peter Osborne. The book gains real credibility by the numerous verifiable case histories he sites throughout its pages and the thousands of people he has helped and cured. It has greatly changed the course of my life, health-wise.
I have given out copies of it to family and people I know and they all report back that they could not put it down after a few chapters and it has affected their lives in a very positive manner. I believe the information in this book would be a tremendous asset to your blogs and posts.

Dear Mr

I applaud you for your thorough work with the training you have provided here at WA. It really opened my eyes and I can barely wait to use this for my own online business!

Perhaps could stop by some day in case I get stuck from following your training.

Either way, thanks again!
All the best to you Sir.

Hello, my idol (lol).

Check this out: The website was doing the dances in Google but with 11th and 12th posts they seem to stay in first page. No explosion in sales yet but hopefully with that info box it'll happen faster!

Hi Dylan. I just became a premium member of WA earlier this month. I'm experiencing a LOT of doubts right now. Doubts about whether WA is right for me, doubts about my ability to come up with good content for websites, doubts about spending the money (I'm not working right now) that I'm gonna have to spend on WA before I see a dime, etc, etc. Any words of advice and/or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Dylan. You've been very helpful and I do appreciate it. I have another question though.

I'm writing my first 'best of' articles, and I've been following your guide the best I can.

I had no problem writing a 400 word section on product #1. It is conversational, it follows a given feature with a personal benefit, it is broken up so it's easy to read, and overall I'm happy with it.

Just to illustrate how my page will be laid out, I'm breaking the article into 3 sections, 5 products each. The sections are 'economical', 'mid-range', and 'high-end'. I did this basically because I couldn't find a basic differentiator with 3 options. Plus the price ranges in these 15 are very wide.

Here's my problem. I wrote that first description on product 1, it's in the economical section of the page, and the other 4 products are so similar, I can't come up with a discription of each one without pretty much saying the exact same thing.

They all have almost the same features!

What do you do in this scenario?

Thanks!

Hi there

I agree with your statement that you need to create a lot of review posts in order to make money.

Are you aware of the new algorithm called Fred which penalizes websites that has too many commercial content on it?

What do you think is the best ratio of commercial vs info articles?
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
Yep I got hit with Fred on my last site lol.. I think it's more about ratio of words to affiliate links. The sweet spot seems to be 3000+ words per 10 affiliate links. I go about 65% to 70% affiliate content and the rest is info articles:
Reply
Valie Premium
Thanks for the reply

If I may ask, how do you incorporate the product images into your product roundups?

Currently, you are not allowed to download the images from Amazon so you need to use the Sitestripe feature to imprint an HTML code to your website.

When users click on the image provided by Sitestripe, they will then be redirected to Amazon.

Here is my current problem.

Does the Sitestripe feature count as an affiliate link because if you have an image and a text affiliate link per product, then that will count as 2 links per product which will then exceed the 10 links per 3000 word article?
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
Sometimes I just take pictures from places outside of Amazon. It might be frowned upon but I still do it. I just make sure to take the stock photos and not personal photos. I use site strip too and it hasn't effected rankings
Reply
Valie Premium
I think I will just stick with Site Stripe images to get my Amazon product images.

Don't know if I am stressing over something that will not be a problem.

Thanks for the help :)

Reply
Zarina Premium
If you don't want to have the link, then when you already used the site stripe image on your post, click on the image and remove the link by selecting "link to NONE".

Hope this helps. I try to remove the links from the main info products from site strip in case it counts as affiliate link, just in case, I would rather focus on call to action button at the end of each product.

Reply
dylanrieger Premium
I actually didn't know you could remove the link.. I'm going to start doing that now!
Reply
Zarina Premium
Actually guys, just came across Dom's post and he says that the reason why we should use site stripe is:

"Now, if you are using the API or the site stripe, Amazon could automatically remove the image from your site and nobody gets in trouble." So, if we remove the link then Amazon can't remove them from our sites? That's the question.

Amazon can be so freakin' complicated it's not even funny.
Reply
Valie Premium
I tested one of the images which displayed "no image available".

The way I see it is that you only removed your affiliate link and not the ability for Amazon to update the image.

I asked one of their representatives and they only referred me back to the terms of service page.
Reply
Zarina Premium
"The way I see it is that you only removed your affiliate link and not the ability for Amazon to update the image."

Seems like it!

Worst case scenario you can leave the Amazon images and really have extensive product info. So instead of one product info with 300 words and 1 affiliate link, you could try 600 words with 2 affiliate links (one of which is the image).

You know what I mean?
Reply
Valie Premium
I don't know if that would be possible to write 600 words on every single product especially ones that do not have that many features.

I also think that it is important to "no-follow" each and every affiliate link (if that would help).

I am still going to do some research on API plugins and might just find one that can only pull the images without the affiliate link.
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
I think you'll be fine. I have posts where I have 20 affiliate links and 20 pictures from Amazon and rank fine. Try not to over think it too much or you'll drive yourself crazy.
Reply
Valie Premium
Thanks

I was making enough money for a fulltime income until Google Fred made it's from last year March.

It will take some time before I am back to where I was.

I think this is the reason why I am overthinking too much.

I think I am going to shoot for product roundups that have more products and has more than 3000 words instead of 5 products 1500 words.

Thanks for your tutorial and help :)
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
No problem and good idea.. I usually go for around 15 products ans 4000-4500 words. That's good to Google
Reply
Zarina Premium
For sometimes even 10 products manage to get to 4000 words but I am in a niche where it's possible to talk about it in detail. In fact just finished a post of 5 products close to 4000 words.

Decided to use the sitestripe images so I have 2 aff links per product now. (actually even 3 links because I include images for lenses as well). Hopefully it isn't too bad.

I finally found a solution to this image problem. Amazon states that you can only use images from its website through Site Stripe and API.

I got the API plugin called Get AAWP and it works like a dream. I can finally put images on my website without having to worry about affiliate links or being clickable.

There is a lot of other stuff that this plugin can also do.

Just thought that I might want to update you guys and thanks for everyone's help :)

Hi Dylan, I found what you wrote very helpful and you know a lot. I've been here in WA for few months but couldn't get done much got distracted between my work and difficulty to write, find the Word press commands to build the website which is still not complete.
Do you think that promoting weight loss supplements or machines are good business? How do I write thousands of words?
Do you work full time online now?
Reply

Weight loss is a great niche and you can do both supplements and machines in one website.

I write a lot because I do best of lists. I put up to 20 products on a single list and put somewhere around 250 words and more per product. Doing that alone will get you to around 5000 words pretty easily.

And I'm not full timish. I spend about 4 hours writing a day and I'll probably be around 4k this month.

Hey Dylan,

Here is the result of your motivational posts haha
https://digitalworldbeauty.com/the-best-cameras-meet-10-eisa-award-winners

Although it seems I am having some comments issue, but I am trying to figure it out with SiteSupport.

What do you think? The post is 4,000 words and it involves 10 products. I removed the year in the url too - when do you suggest I should change the year to 2018, to start ranking for that keyword?
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
The content looks great and you did an awesome job. Like really amazing.

My only suggestions would be to be choose keywords that are a little more narrow. Instead of one big general best camera post I would do a post for each category you mentioned. Best dlsr camera, best instant camera, best photo and video camera.

Check out this website and he see how much content he gets from cameras alone:

https://www.switchbacktravel.com/digital-camera-reviews

This websites makes millions too.

As far as the year you should be fine because you have both 2017 and 2018. Maybe just delete the 2017 when the year changes over.

Also, next year when it's almost 2019, you should add maybe one or two cameras and then change it to 2019. It should rank for that too.

Hope this helps!
Reply
Zarina Premium
Hey Dylan,

Thanks for getting back to me and for your words of support!

That's exactly what I planned to do actually, focus on narrower camera categories - decided to start off with the general top 10 and then will interlink around. Do you think I should already add 2018 in those posts since my site is new and it's gonna take some time for them to "brew"?

As for the current first post, when 2019 is around, I will add a smartphone camera that won the same award along regular cameras just to update it.

Unfortunately, so many times I tried to open the switch back travel on Safari and Chrome, but it just doesn't open for me - don't know what to do.

I have another question - I saw one of the sites that you shared somewhere and it said that it's good to have short nice url - and here Kyle said it's OK to have long urls. What exactly you do with that?

Cheers,
Zarina
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
Alright cool.. If you keep hammering away with content like that one you'll be good. Really good. Plus that niche has some serious potential.

Maybe try looking for switchback through Google. I honestly think your content quality is as good or better anyway.

And as far as url goes I like to just put my url as they keyword I'm targeting. So if you do best dlsr cameras 2018 I would put my url as best dlsr cameras and put the title with the year or put the title as something like the absolute 15 best dlsr cameras 2018. Whatever you want really but I would keep the url as your targeted keyword.

If you keep at this you'll be shocked the type traffic and sales you get. For me, it literally went month 4 making $112 to month 5 making $1350 to month 6 making $2350. Somewhere in the 5th or 6th month Goggle starts to really trust your website and all you content jumps from page 3 and 4 to page 1.

Oh, and make sure to put an Amazon disclosure in the sidebar or footer. Amazon could shut down your account if you don't have one. This article explains how to do it: https://snapcreativity.com/amazons-affiliate-disclosure-policy/
Reply
Zarina Premium
I am shocked I didn't do anything tech like before - I mean I have interest in them and I can't say I am a huge expert but I like learning, I am ok with doing extensive research and man there is huge potential in laptops, cameras, phones etc.

I was just worried that those are super competitive niches - but I guess I just need to try to have lower competition keywords? But see those narrower categories of cameras that you mentioned in your first answer are also pretty competitive too I believe.

My hope is that with super long posts, the year in them and the comments (which also is content and engagement), I get to top 1 page despite those big websites.

So you think that having url like this is OK? https://digitalworldbeauty.com/the-best-cameras-meet-10-eisa-award-winners
So, the main keyword + extra that I used in the title to make it catchy. As you suggested, I kept the year off the url.

As for Amazon policy, I did include an Affiliate disclosure page - https://digitalworldbeauty.com/affiliate-disclosure - which is on sidebar under "Important Pages".

I was shocked to see your numbers too!! That's why I was like WOW I am so totally changing the strategy and doing those best of lists + year. I just wish I met you earlier here at WA lol. REALLY looking forward to having success with this new website!

Also, do you mind sharing you website? Would love to have a sneak peak if you are ok with this.
Reply

The last six months I've focused on winter keywords too. When December rolls around I'm expecting a lot of traffic.

For the url I read from a really good source that google treats the first 5 words of url as the most important. So what ever you do keep your keyword in the front.

In terms of finding keywords just go to the Best Buy website - they literally categorize everything into keywords and you can see them if you hit the products tab on the homepage! Same with Amazon. That's how I get my keywords. Best Buy has I think 20 different categories for cameras and camcorders alone from memory cards to drone cameras and more.

The tech niche is wide enough where you could literally find hundreds of best of lists.

And I actually found that Brent guy's website too just from researching websites if you want to look at it: https://elitegamingcomputers.com/
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
Don't worry about how competitive the niche is either. Just find specific keywords and best of lists and you'll be fine. I'm in a competitive niche and beat websites that have been around for 10 years and get millions of people a month for traffic.

Keywords just for cameras (which I got from looking at the Best Buy website:

Best digital slr camera
best mirrorless camera
best camera lenses
best point and shoot cameras
best instant print cameras
best action camcorders
best 360 degree camcorders
best lens filters
best camera batteries
best camera flashes

and on and on and on. You'll get first page ranking with the year in it and in times you may even get page one ranking without the year in it too. Just keep up the same level of quality as that first post.
Reply
Zarina Premium
Holy moly, Best Buy DOES have it so nicely organized! Thanks a lot for this tip !!!

Also, when you do keyword research, whats your hmmm criteria for # of searches vs competition number? (using WA keyword tool or jaaxy)

For example, I just did jaaxy research "best cameras under 2000" it shows 24 searches and QSR of 5. Does this mean it's a bad one? And note, it doesn't even have a year in it. With the year it's less than 10 searches.
Reply
dylanrieger Premium
Any large retail website nicely organizing everything. You can usually find all the products on Amazon too.

I write any best of list that gets any traffic with the year in it. I'll also write a keyword without the year (for example a best of post targeted for kids or men or women) if it's low competition and gets at least 50 to 75 searches a month. For the most part I stick with best of posts with the year.

You'll get more traffic than what the keyword tool says too. When you do a best of post you end up ranking for like 15 different terms. I've had keywords that were suppose to get around 100 to 200 clicks a month end up getting 2,000 clicks a month.

In terms of competition basically every best of post with the year is low competition. Unless you were trying to rank for best album 2018 or best car 2018 or something like that. You probably won't rank for that.

But you should eventually rank for all specific best of posts.

I don't usually do the "best for under a certain dollar amount" posts. You could probably write a :"best cheap cameras 2018: Cameras under $2,000"

Best cheap cameras gets 217 searches a month. best cheap digital cameras gets 144 searches. Best cheap cameras for photography gets 96 searches. Best cheap dslr cameras gets 88 searches.

Reach out and help someone and always say please and thank you. You are already on the way to success because you are here. Everyone is waiting to help you get there. Everyday do a little, one day you'll realize you've done a lot without trying hard. Be blessed - Ruth
