In this video you’re going to learn how to add some Amazon Native Shopping ads to your posts and pages.

In case you don’t know what Native Shopping Ads are, they’re the easy way to add products from Amazon that are relevant to your topic and your readers. You'll want to choose a keyword that's relevant to your niche. If your website is about dog training then you'll probably use 'dogs' as your keyword.

One ad is usually enough per post unless the post is very long. And don’t put the ad too high up on the post or you’ll make your site look spammy.

Thank you Marion. I have used these before. Right now I can't get any image ads of any kind from Amazon. I can get the sitestripe text links, but the image links show up as empty squares and the Native Ads don't show up at all. Is this a problem with Amazon curtailing my access?

(I also usethe EasyAzon plug in and my ads disappeared overnight. Their support can't figure it out.)

Did you install an ad blocker in your browser? Check your website using a different browser and/or a different device.

Thank you Marion. I did, but I can disable it on my sites as well as Amazon.
I have checked the site on Firefox and Chrome, removing the ad blocker. No ads.

When you select the word you want to find in the visual tab, it will be selected in the text tab too, and easy to find back:))

Thanks for the awesome training! I do have a question. I tried including two instances of my Native ads in my post, as it's quite lengthy, yet only one ad block is appearing in my post, although the two ad blocks appear when I view it in Wordpress. Any idea why this may be happening?
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
This is probably a directive from Amazon. Perhaps they don't want your posts to look spammy with a lot of ads. I have long posts with Amazon Native Ads and also Adsense. It's OK to combine them.
Reply
smokeywins Premium
That's a good point! Didn't think of that. Thanks!

I don't know if it's because I am in the UK but Amazon Native is not available.

Are there any other options?
Reply
DarrinB Premium
HI, I am UK too. The best way to solve this is to register with Amazon US and then linking your UK account. You can then access the onelink features and Amazon recommended native ads. So you need to sign up under the Amazon (dot) com site. Hope that helps.
Reply
BillCoton Premium
I did not know that we could sign-up for Amazon US
Reply
DarrinB Premium
Yes, you can sign up for a number of different locations in Amazon, link them all into the US account and then have native ads to each country, so, for example, I am signed up for UK, USA, Germany, Italy, Canada, France and Spain.

Thanks for the gorgeous training, Marion. I have to alert some of you guys that actually Amazon is experiencing technical issues and for many users, the Native Shopping Ads do not appear. For me, it doesn't work. I've contacted Amazon and they explained that there is an ongoing issue which should be fixed. I am waiting for 3 weeks now.
The issue is with Native Shopping adds, especially with the strip format.
With that being said, they are a great tool and I am waiting for Amazon to fix the issue,
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
Thanks for the alert. I just went and checked my own Amazon Native Ads and they're still working fine. I hope they get yours fixed quickly.
Reply
Karax Premium
Yes, the issue happens for most of the users, but not for all, hopefully.

Send me the link to your page that you've pasted the code so I can look at the HTML.

Did you publish the page? Did you look at the page in an incognito window?

How does Amazon Native Shopping ads affect our ranking, how often should we be placing these ads in our posts? Can we use these in every post without hurting our ranking, I am not sure if I am over using these or not?

How long does it take before amazon shopping ads are shown? I have added an ad to one of my posts but, after updating and viewing post I do not see the ad in the post.
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
Wait for 24 hours and if it's not visible by then you may have to go through the steps again. If you have an ad blocker installed on your browser you won't see the ads.
Reply
Nickoy Premium
OK. I will check for the ads. I see the google ads from AdSense so I don't think an ad blocker is on my browser.
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
Did you paste the code using the Text tab? What do you see where the ad should be? Is there an empty space?
Reply
Nickoy Premium
l pasted the code using the text tab. Before pasting the code. I highlighted "[ad]" and then pasted the code. In the visual tab I could see the symbol of a play button representing the ad. However, when I look for the ad in the view post mode there is no ad there, just the regular space between the paragraphs.
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
Aaah! You need to publish the page before the ads can show up. You won't see them in preview mode, only when you visit your website and look at the post as a new visitor would see it.
Reply
Nickoy Premium
To place the add in your post in the 'visual mode' do you type in "[ad]"? Or do you paste the ad code in it? I am not quite sure what to do here
Reply
Nickoy Premium
Ok. I think I am getting to understand it.
Thanks Marion

Very good video Marion. However, I would like to know if for the keyword if wordpress has to be the keyword selected, or we can choose another keyword that is relevant.
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
You'll want to choose a keyword that's relevant to your own niche. My niche is developing WordPress websites so that's why I chose WordPress as my keyword. If your website is about dog training then you'll use 'dogs' as your keyword.
Reply
Nickoy Premium
OK. That's what I was thinking.

Well, I learned several things from your video. Usually, I just add links to specific products that I have written a review about, but I like the idea of adding several other products at the end of the post. Second, while you scrolled through the article, I saw where you wrote about changing the "uncategorized"category to something related to your niche. And third, I saw a unique way to use the search feature in the text tab of a post. Bet you didn't know you were teaching about other items than Amazon ads. Thanks

P.S. When I looked at some of your training, and the native shopping ads for the dog coats I had been looking up showed up. Now I know how that works!

Yes, using this method you choose exactly where to place the ads in each individual article. But you can use the same code.

Thanks, Marion. Wonderful training. QUestion: do I have to add the Native Ads code to each article that I do or can it be automatically embedded in each article?
Thanks
M
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
I'm pretty sure you have the choice of manual or using the AdInserter plugin.
Reply
mybiz4u Premium
So, at the expense of being gauche - you just put the native ads code in the Ad sense Plugin? Correct? And this will add the native ad codes as well?
M
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
Yes, you can just create a new ad block in the plugin. It's not just for Adsense ads. Then later, if you want to change to ads from a different supplier you just change the block in the plugin and you don't have to touch the posts.

Yes, Native Shopping Ads has expanded but you can still do the custom ads. Click on Custom Ads. Scroll down to where it says Create Custom Ads. Click on that and just as always - you can still select and add products also, edit ad title to list something other than My Amazon Pics. Hope this helped!

Hi there again Marion
I have just looked at your training video this eve...many thanks for same.
I notice that Amazon have changed the way that we select the items for Native Shopping Ads.
Before we could pick and chose as we wished, but now the selection is more or less done for us automatically...
ie, they make the four selected items for our block of ads...
Is there any way in which we can go back to the previous method for making our selections...and pick and choose as we wish
I hope you understand my question...
Thanks in advance
Phil Browne
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
Native shopping ads means that Amazon picks the items to suit what they think your readers want to see. You can use individual product ads instead but they don't automatically get put on the page in a grid.
