*Kyle mentions shortened affiliate links in this video. There is no longer a short and long affiliate link option so if you would like to shorten your long links into something smaller use something like the Google link shorten tool http://goo.gl/
(00:06)
Hey everyone Kyle here from Wealthy Affiliate. Today I want to talk about leveraging content within Wealthy Affiliate. And I'm going to show you how you can actually benefit from any post, discussion, or training resource within Wealthy Affiliate on your site. First thing I'm going to do is I'm just going to walk into any of the classrooms here and I'm going to go to...I'm just going to go to a discussion here.
(00:34) And I'm going to show you something. So at the top of every blog post, discussion, training resource, and course you're going to see a button that says affiliate link. So if you click this (00:44); this is actually your generated affiliate link so this is unique to you and only you. If I scroll down to the end here you're going to see my affiliate id at the end there (00:57) and then this is automated shortened but if I copy and paste that into my address bar you're going to see that that is just a shortened version that redirects to my actual affiliate link.
(01:14) So, both of these are your affiliate links. You can use either one of them and you can place these anywhere on your website, online, social networks, anywhere. So it's pretty awesome that you can share any of the content within Wealthy Affiliate and get full affiliate credit for it. And the same goes for tutorials and videos, like you can go to any video here (01:37). Let's take this one for example cause I'm going to be using this one on my website, but I can go down and same thing here I can grab the link and link anyone to this video externally or internally within Wealthy Affiliate.
(01:57) So for example, if I put this link on my website or on Facebook or wherever, they come and they watch the video. It intrigued their interest in Wealthy Affiliate and they decided to join. Your cookie is set and you're going to get full affiliate credit for that. So basically you're sharing quality content and reaping the benefits of it.
(02:22) The next thing I do is I'm just going to go over to my website here and I'm going to give you an example of how I have leveraged this. If you come down to the bottom here, this content is about building a successful website: I walk you through the process and tell you what you need to create a success site and I've leveraged this video here (02:44). This is just snapshot of the video within the training search and I've linked both this link and this link to the actual "Create a Website in Under 30 Seconds Video" so if I click that and if someone is on my website and clicks that they're going to come to this video.
(03:05) As you can see, I don't have my affiliate id up here and that is because I'm the originator of this content. Video created by Kyle. So if I'm the originator of the content, I don't need to add affiliate links because by default it's going to set me as the affiliate of the content if there are no incoming affiliate links; which is awesome for you. So say a page gets indexed into Google from Wealthy Affiliate and you are the creator of the content, you are going to get full credit for any of the referrals that that generates.
(03:41) And the same goes for your website. It allows you to use any of your content without an affiliate id on your website or wherever you want. That's something you might want to remember because sometimes it's nicer to not use your affiliate link and if you're the originator you don't have to use it. The next thing I'm going to do is I'm going to show you how to link up the content here.
(04:07 displayed title) Linking WA Content on Your Website
(04:13) So here I am on a page within Wealthy Affiliate. What it is; is it's a discussion thread I started in the Getting Started classroom and I asked people for reviews of Wealthy Affiliate, their personal take on Wealthy Affiliate. So if I scroll down (04:28), there is a bunch of reviews here. And this is actually going to be quite powerful to use on my website and you can use it on your review as well. I head over to my Wealthy Affiliate review that I created yesterday.
(04:41) So here's the review that I created. At the very bottom I've added this little blurb here "Read Real Testimonials: READ REVIEWS" so I'm going to link the "read reviews" here (04:54) to this actual discussion and since I'm the author of this discussion I can link to it directly but for the sake of this tutorial I'm going to grab my affiliate link here. And you can grab either one of these links if you want to use the short affiliate link that's fine as well.
(05:14) I'm just going to grab the long one and then I'm going to head over here and you want to highlight this, click the link button, and simply paste your link there (05:27). I usually scroll back just to make sure that I grabbed the whole link, sometimes its cut off. So I just want to make sure the entire link is there, it is. Click open in a new tab and then I'm going to add the link and there I go. So I update the page here and I go to this post.
(05:52)So here's my review and I'm going to scroll down to the bottom here just to show you that this is working, so here is this link now. So if someone reads this review and they are going through the summarized overview and they are like "oh I would like to read the real testimonials here" so they're going to click this link (06:12) and it's going to take them to this discussion through my affiliate link and they are going to read the reviews.
(06:20) If they are external of Wealthy Affiliate and they click on any link here it's going to give them a popup module that says not a member yet, are you interested in joining? So it will lead to quite a few conversions if you are linking to content within Wealthy Affiliate even if the audience is external of Wealthy Affiliate which most people will be.
(06:45) So that's basically how you do it. You want to tastefully leverage content within Wealthy Affiliate on your website. Like, you don't want to just have a million links to Wealthy Affiliate within your content because it's going to be a bit overkill. So I've added one link there (07:07) and the other link I've added so far is on the Build a Website page and I've linked to the website builder (07:16) to give them a quick overview of how quickly they can get a website up and running. That's all I've done so far. Like I said, I wouldn't go overboard with this but it can be quite effective when done right. So there you go.
(07:35 displayed title) Wait...My Profile!
(07:40) I almost forgot to mention one thing. I am actually using it in one more place, the links to Wealthy Affiliate. I use it on my profile and I recommend that you do the same thing. So what I've done here at the bottom (07:54) is I say "you can drop me a comment below via the comments or you can always get in touch with me inside of Wealthy Affiliate" and then I link directly to my profile (08:06) at Wealthy Affiliate. So this is something that I recommend you do as well. You can simply go to your profile and you can just grab your profile link directly. You don't have to use your affiliate link because you are the owner of that profile.
(08:23) So you don't need to grab the affiliate link. So what I've done here is go back to the my review, sorry my About Me page, and I've just linked directly to my profile here (08:39). You can be creative with how you want to do that; but, yeah that's about it. So that's just a quick overview of leveraging content at Wealthy Affiliate within your website. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as a quick little walkthrough and if you do have any questions about how to do this or the proper techniques to implement content from Wealthy Affiliate into your site just leave a comment below and I will be more than happy to help you out. Hope you enjoyed this!
