What Are WA's Web Hosting Features For Comparison?
Can Anyone Tell Me Accurately, What The Web Hosting Features Are At WA?
I'm busy compiling an extensive comparison review and need to know the nitty-gritty of the specific web hosting features of WA Hosting.
For Example:
Is it:
1/ Shared Web Hosting
OR
2/ VPS Web Hosting (doubt it...)
OR
3/ Dedicated Hosting (which I doubt very much, but may be surprised :-))
OR
4/ Cloud Web Hosting?
OR
.... is it a combination of any of the four options listed above?
I want to be accurate in my declaration of what WA has to offer and therefore need clarification on this point.
Also...
... is WA Hosting technically 'free' if you are already a WA Member?
OR
... does one have to pay $49.00 for WA Hosting and gets WA Membership free?
How does one word this as it certainly doesn't make sense to say WA Membership is $49.00 and WA Hosting is $49.00, so how has it been worded so as not to cause confusion?
Whilst we're on the subject of Hosting and Domains...
...what is the commission earned on Domains if your signup buys a domain in WA Domain Registrar?
Looking forward to all the CORRECT answers to these questions so that I can publish my post very soon!
Regards
Edu

Here's a comparison with a couple of other providers, Edu.
As you can see, nothing comes near WA.
Cheers
Rich 😃
Yes, I have that chart in my review, it was more the TYPE of hosting that I needed clarity on.
But the first few answers answered that and to my amazement, I found that I had asked this of Kyle and Carson a while back and forgotten about it!
Here is their response: Is The Wealthy Affiliate WordPress Platform Managed? . . . or Shared?
Sure. But how about comparing to other top-rated Managed WP hosts like Kinsta, SiteGround, and DreamHost.?
Sorry, Edu, looks like I mis-understood your question. That's a very informative response from Carson - thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Shared hosting
$1 for hosting referrals. It's not much because we doesn't really mark up the coats from ICANN
Those must be some interesting coats they have at ICANN! :-)
But I understand the point you are bringing across, thanks for sharing that with us Chris!
Could you possibly answer the question about whether:

WA will host 25 of your websites plus 25 using free domains. The 25 hosted ones are not free, however, tey come with the membership.
however, i belive kyle is working on special pricing soon so that you could more easily sell jsut hosting and no training to people.
49 covers everything, hosting and membership. as of now, you cannot get one without the other. But as i mentioned, that all shoudl change in coming weeks and months.
I would just mention what the premium membership entails.
If you are looking at CORRECT answers, I think you are looking in the wrong place.
For technical stuff, you should ask support, as they can give you more precise information than anyone here (unless Kyle or Carson).

Last I heard, it was Enom Web Hosting. It's shared hosting but it's Wordpress Managed Hosting. So it specializes in Wordpress websites.
Check your website dashboard (the detailed one) and I believe all the specs are there. Geoff.
That specific aspect of Shared Web Hosting isn't on the list, thus the post.
Thanks for your valuable input Geoff!
From what I have determined based on prior research for a blog post a few months ago. WA hosting is on Amazon AWS EC2 Infrastructure (cloud hosting platform as a service).
I am not going to get into the hardware specs or the software because there are smarter WA members than me. My IT skills are ancient.
There are no standards as to what constitutes Managed WordPress hosting. The common characteristics include:
1. Technical staff well versed in WP installations and applications.
2. Higher Security - probably due to WP vulnerability.
3. Speed - faster hardware
There are several features that WA does not provide as part of a managed WP solution.
1. Live chat or telephone support with tech support. Tech support is done via ticket system.
2. Automatic WP updates.
WA appears to be using Amazon content delivery network (CDN), which is geographically distributed servers designed to serve content faster.
When it comes to researching managed WP hosting companies, I have never found WA on any best of lists. One reason may be that WA bundles training and hosting together for one price. So reviewers may consider WA a training provider and not a hosting provider.
Personally, I cannot claim WA has the best hosting solution for WP. In addition to one of my WA hosted websites being hacked, I have submitted 30+ support request tickets. I also host 3 other sites at another hosting company. I have submitted 1 support request in the same period of time. This request was submitted via live chat with a support technician.
Hope this helps.
