I just checked out your site and left a comment no problem at all, it's awaiting moderation so get to moderating!! Awesome pictures btw!

Thank you...how did you do that? I've been wracking my brain for days trying to figure out where my Comment Box was!!

Thank you.
Hope you are having a blessed day~

Tammy

The comments are on each post or page you have. The front page or blogroll or if you have a static page is where your "recent comments" will show a collaboration of the comments of each post. You were looking for a comment box where its just a comment roll if you will, but the actual comment box will be at the end of your posts automatically or if you create a form box and place it on the page if your theme allows for it.
So no need to fret my love, you just keep producing content, people will read it and leave a comment afterward. You are doing everything right! You can also sign out of WP or use Incognito mode and go to your site and you will see everything from a readers perspective or sign in from another browser like Explorer, Firefox etc.. You're doing a killer job!! Be proud and bask in those beautiful colorful leaves :-)

Kool!!!!

Tried to put in Happy Tears but it wouldn't let me, so here are some Dolphin Kisses!!! You are so sweet!!

In a John Wayne voice..."Well thank'ya purdy lady you sure know how to make a social media man feel, I need to mozy (get it?) along and get me a cup of joe, so here's one right back at cha little darling"

Like the two colored Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww lol

Hey Tammy,

The following post may offer you the help you seek: https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments-for-future-posts-pages/

Thank you...tried that also..There is a place on my website that says Comments but there is no BOX or anywhere in it to actually leave a comment.

So ... you went to your WordPress > Settings and followed the instructions, right.

Then I would suggest it is a failing of the theme you are using so you may wish to change your theme. Though, I have never seen a theme that stopped WordPress from offering an option.

Jair (DKMade) just left me a message in my Blog Roll and it works but I don't see capability anywhere else in the site yet. I probably will end up changing the theme in the end.

Thanks for your help.

It could also be that your browser needs to be refreshed.
You should always delete your browser cache when viewing any changes made to your website.

Please see if some of these options will help:

Thanks for the link but I went through all of this as well.

What is the meaning of "does not give a place for people to leave comments". You mean comment box is missing completely? If this is so and you used steps described in the training, then the theme does not allow comments, I know there are such themes.

But if this is a small space only, then check somewhere in settings and in the theme design. Contact theme designers.

You might not be able to see the comment box while you are logged in to your website admin. Some themes are set up that way.

But maybe visitors can see the comment section.

If you would like to leave the link to your website, I will be happy to take a look. If that's not it, I'll check to see what else might be causing the issue. It could be a plugin conflict or something else.

~Jude

Thank you, that would be great!

It seems you have created a Static Page as your front page display,

And you created a blog-roll page but you may have not have changed it correctly in the WP settings.

Go to the WP Customizer. Select the page named "blog-roll" from the drop down menu list under Posts page.

See Screenshot.

If that doesn't fix it, post again. ~Jude

I changed the static page and saved, no luck.
I removed the static page and saved, no luck.

I see the comments box when I click on the post title. WP by default, publishes the full post into the single.php file, not the blogroll. Most people know to click on the title to read the full post.

See the SCREENSHOT below that shows the comment box on your site.

The TwentySeventeen theme can be a challenge because it departs from the usual WP defaults. The theme is designed for Corporate users.

The theme default settings displays the 'continue reading tag'. But maybe because you set up a separate page called blog-roll, it lost that setting.

Marian has training on how to add the read more tag, which will then create a blogroll The theme does not show a Comments tag or the comment count on the blogroll. Maybe they will add that in updates. In the WP forums they advise using a child theme to customize that.

The TwentySeventeen theme support forum might come in handy for you:

Thank you so much. I may end up having to change it all around--the theme. ugh.

Actually the more I look at that theme, while checking the answer for you, the more I like the possibilities that it offers.

It is bit more of a learning curve than with other WP themes for a beginner. If you like the theme, stick with it and learn how to make it do what you want it to do...lol.

The comment box will not show on the blogroll. It doesn't need to be there. It needs to be were it is, at the end of your blog posts.

You'll find several useful YouTube videos on customizing the TwentySeventeen theme. ~Jude

PS. A tip: Go to WP > Customizer > Page Layout. At the moment you have a 2 column layout for the home page. Try selecting one column. That will remove the wide blank space on the left side of the page. If you like ti, save the setting.

Thank you, I will check into that--wasn't sure how bad it would throw off the formatting when I change it--not that brave yet.

The visual editor shows you instantly in the right side of your screen. You don't have to save it if you don't like it. That's the good thing about the customizer visual editor, you can see the change right away and decide whether to save it or not. Even if you save it, you can change it back. You won't break anything.

~Jude

Thanks Jude, that makes me feel better!

Come watch my training

Thanks but that was on something different.
Still need help...

Check for more training or ask Marion Black or possibly Loes or Teddy Bear. I think this may have to do with design, but I am really not sure. You can always ask Kyle or Carson as well. Sorry, I don't know a lot about design.
