Are you talking about tags on your website? It's the same deal, you just type a word or a few to say what that post is about using tags.

Hello Timothy, don't worry about tags at this point. Some never use tags, using only categories. A tag is an exact word that you use in your content. It really must be exact or you will get errors in your Google Search Console. A tag is just a means for Google to find your content through that word (tag). Tags can be added later if you like, once you've built out and added lots of content, posts and pages to your site. Good luck!

Go step by step through the training and it will walk you through the plug ins and where you should be adding your tags into wordpress. You will gain much more insight and have many ahh haa! moments if you plan on upgrading. I personally have only been a premium member for about 2 weeks and it's amazing how everything fills in.

Just type any word you prefer and hit it!
