Of Polyps and Pauses

Hi everyone,

I had colonoscopy yesterday.

3 days before, I had low residue diet.

My mom cooked lunch of foods like this for 3 days (shown above). Boiled meats with veggies boiled to a soft texture. In the photo above, it was boiled fish with boiled pumpkin in light sauce. Yeah, no heavy sauces, just light ones.

While on that diet, I realized how much I missed my usual vegetarian breakfast. Realized how good tasting it is.

The vegetarian meal I have that I usually buy from a food stall near my place. It has vermicelli with various vegetarian foods and veggies. I asked for lots of curry sauce to have a very yummy taste. I just had it this morning.

Colonoscopy and Polyps

The night before I took the colon cleanser. It tasted awful. And I had to drink 2 litres of it within 2 hours. Yuck!

After that, I was practically in the bathroom almost the whole night. Totally lack of sleep in the morning.

Went to the hospital next morning and had colonoscopy. Report came back that they found 3 polyps.

I was worried and the nurse who gave me the report noticed. He gave me comfort and said not to worry. One good sign, he advised, was that my review appointment with my surgeon was in September. He said that if it was serious, the surgeon would see me the very next day.

I took much comfort in that.

Pause and Rest

The whole session took almost 3/4 of the day. By the time I was home, I was exhausted.

So, I rested and rested. Watched more kdrama and tiktok videos for entertainment between rest.

Today, I still don't feel like doing anything. But I will try.

Should I record more videos? I can't do that on weekdays as the digging and construction downstairs my flat is still ongoing. It has been going on for more than half a year. I had to resort to recording videos on weekends when they stop work. As such, I would prepare the scripts and record many videos at one go.

Should I create more blog posts? Maybe. I will see how I feel. I have been feeling tired for a couple of weeks. And not feeling motivated to write and create content. Was the noise pollution partly responsible? Maybe. It was no muse and surely did not help my creative process.

Still, I did push myself during that time. I still produced at least one blog post per day. And I will do my best to try to motivate myself to do that.

Sometimes, I have noticed, that suddenly the muse arrives and creativity strikes. And it comes hard and fast. So, I will not stress myself and just believe in the process.

I wish you good health, wealth and success!

Tim

P.S. Next Monday, I have a renal scan. I wonder - could all these medical procedures, appointments and reviews be affecting my creativity?

Hi Tim,

I can relate on the colonoscopy. I'm in the every 5 years range. It keeps me up all night too.

My husband just had one and he was able to sleep by midnight - grrr! He only drank liquids the day before as his prep.

Prayers that you are well :)

Teri

Hi Teri,

Doing it every 5 years is good. It means your gut is healthy, yes?

Your husband is so lucky! :)

I am well. Thank you.

I wish you good health.

Tim

Just make sure you get the rest you need, Tim! Hope that everything progresses well going forward!

Some good news then Tim, a September review. That's how I looked at my own scenario, no treatment but regular check-ups. If it was bad then I would be in a bed already.
Sending you prayers and strength my friend.
Bux

You are right, Bux. Yes, a review that's scheduled far away or just regular checkups are good signs. I am most grateful.

Thanks for the prayers, my friend πŸ™ I send you prayers too and wish you good health.

Creativity is always the best way to take your mind off of things, Tim!

Hopefully, you're able to get back on your regular diet soon and get your strength back.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Isaiah 😊

You are right, Isaiah. Thanks, πŸ™

I did express my creativity by producing a few social media posts:

They are phrases that came to me. I plan to add them to my next book.

And I have already started to enjoy all the good food. hehe.
While fighting cancer, I came to this realization:

"life's pleasures should never be sacrificed on the altar of caution" - Shifting Paradigms (my book)

I told myself back then and till today to enjoy good things in life when I can.

I am feeling better today. Thanks. And stronger too.

I hope you are well my friend. I wish you good health.

Tim
