I purchased a domain name from godaddy.com and now im trying to transfer that domain name to WA. However, it is asking for a verification number to complete the transfer. I am
There are 2 things you can do.
1) Just host your domain here in WA by pointing the DNS to WA's servers. Once you completed that, you can use it right away.
2) If you want to transfer the domain, you need to get the verification code from Godaddy. Ask their support if you can't find it your self.
Between the 2, option no 1 is simpler and easier.
Plus, if you opt for option No 2, you need to pay for another subscription fee here in WA. So if it is a brand new domain, you need to consider your cost too.

If it's a new domain name it can't be transferred for 60 days. But as you say, the DNS can be changed straight away.

The process of transferring can be a bit confusing sometimes. If you get stuck, I would suggest getting Site Support involved. You can put a ticket in by clicking on Help Center (on the left) and then Site Support.

Click on Websites (located below Dashboard and Trainings) > Site Domains then select Transfer Domains to WA.

Go into your WordPress Dashboard. Select Pages from the menu on the left hand side. Select New. Then edit away.....
