In my opinion, it’s a good idea to have links going out. It is the easiest way for your fellow members to go out and find what you’re doing online, so they can help you, or you can help them.
How else are we going to get to know each other on a more first name basis and personal level?
Maybe you do not want Wealthy Affiliate members to know your niche and secrets.
Or maybe you just forgot.
Or maybe you don’t know how.

I’m an open book. I have my 2 sites on full display and even my WA affiliate link, in case a starter is lurking about in the shadows. 🕵️
An Open Book is easier to read.
When I am "shopping" I browse a lot, and when I'm ready to "buy" I tend to move toward those that I feel I can trust.

I used to put my website links in WA profile. But coincidentally, after I removed it, my website traffic improved. Maybe some other factors were at play at that time.
I tend to think it is a matter of relevance. If the niche is about promoting WA or MMO niche, then it makes sense?
But if not, then maybe it is not such a good idea.
