Google+'ed...Now What?

OK. I did the Google+ bit and Thanks every one who added me to their "Circles" (I've added you all too), but I'm a little confused as to what we are supposed to be doing with it. I don't "do" facebook, but I am on Twitter and tried to avoid G+. Are we supposed to share what we post on our sites or share what we are doing here?Or is it just for "whatever"?

So now I'm on to the affiliate program search and found one in my niche all the way off in Australia, so I guess I'll be able to start doing some reviews, at least. Until I find the lessons on eCommerce (Hope it's soon!). Hopefully won't have to re-re-arrange my sites too much!

I'm having a great time. Even though it's a bit frustrating at times, I'm learning something new everyday. See Ya's later >8 }

Terry, I'm with you on this one. Confusion is my normal state now. Now, I had the Google+ account, no idea what to do with it. I don't Twitter, but I do have a Facebook... why? I couldn't tell you. I now have Pinterest, where strangers seem to be putting their stuff on my bulletin board. I'm not sure if I should encourage them or call the cops.
Forge ahead!

Exactly! Too much information out there these days! Proceed with caution, pilgrim.

Keep going, have fun.

Everyday ): ) Thanks!

Hi Terry, I get frustrated at times too but, like you, I'm enjoying all that I am learning. Hope we are both successful!!!
Phyllis

Today, The "Inter-Web" (as my kid calls it) Tomorrow... the grocery store I'm almost out of cat food ); ) I'm with you too. we'll get there. One way or the other

Well, I know what you mean about social media, I rather hate it myself. However, last night, I posted a link and description of a site blog post I did.

That post ended up on page 1 of Google, #5 position overnight for that keyword. (Thanks to Sandra (tmmom) for that little Google + tip)!

So, use Google + to post links to your site blogs and then from there, like Kyle said, link to your reviews where you'll have your affiliate links.

Google loves Google + of course and posts there will take precedence. Good luck and cheers!

I just need to caution you that if you are signed into Google when conducting a search, you will get biased results. Any G+ posts you or anyone in your circle publishes is likely to show up on the first page.
If you sign out of Google, you will likely see far different results.

That's very encouraging to hear, thanks for sharing that good news with us.

UPDATE

Well Jeannie (Stonefox) I took the bull by the horns and did some social media posts with my website this morning and low and behold, I have gone from not being in the first 10 pages (didn't look beyond that) to being on Page 3... could get to like this social media stuff

I think I read about that on the WP "Help me find my @#$ from a hole in the ground" site. But now it makes sense. Thanks.

The fine print...It'll get ya everytime.

Steveo, So are you saying it is better to be logged in the G+ when doing a search so it can be on page 1?

Yup, that's what happened. Hmm, thanks for the rain on my happy dance. ;- /
So, ok then peeps, not as great as I thought it was. Cheers.

I'm not saying it's better or worse. I'm saying that if you are logged into Google when doing a search, you will not see the same results as everyone else.

It may not help you as far as search goes but, Google may crawl and index your content faster which IS a good thing :)

Thanks Steveo

Just put this theory to the test and can vouch that it is correct. Logged in, I was on Page 1 (2nd position), even with my picture. Logged out... Page 3 (7th position), no pic and a different web page

You can post what you tweet in G+. It can be personal snippets, articles, blog posts, pretty pictures, anything you want. Go look at a few members' home pages and see what they're doing with it. That may give you some hints. Good Luck, Terry!

I've seen lots of your post, I'm just not that creative and my camera (hiding away in my tablet) takes crappy photos. I guess I could experiment some though. Thanks for the tips >: )

People don't care if the photo is crappy. Just take a few and post them. Folks love visuals!

Okey Dokey Boss. I'll be doing a day hike in a couple of days. I'll try it out then. If I leave early enough, I might be able to catch the friendly neighborhood coyote >: ) See, now I'm actually looking forward to it, I might even do my hike sooner. Thanks everybody!

I'll be waiting to see that coyote! Just don't get too close. :)

No guarantees! It's been in the 100+ deg. so they like to sleep most of the day. I'll find something for ya though. How are you with jackrabbits?

Like them. I used to live in Arizona on the Mexican border. Seen my share of both. Just no snakes. I have an irrational deathly fear of snakes. Anything else is fair game, though. :)

Pun intended???? Lots of quail here too. : )

HAH!

Don't worry about making this perfect Theresa. I personally use G+ to share my content with my circles. Although most of the time, I'll rarely get a +1, it still helps to do this.

You'll find in time people who like your content who are on G+ will befriend you and you can then use that to further share your content.

This would be "Networking" then? Not a conflict of interest with WA or G+?

No it's fine. As long as you don't spam every single piece of content on your profile here, you're good. There are special pages within WA where you can post your content and get comments. Look through the certification training. They'll show you the places to share your content.

Thank You for that. I hate spam as much as everyone else. I won't be peddling pepper spray unless peoples' interests are particularly perked-up by the prospect of purchasing this potent personal protection product. That would be Peachy! (WHEW!). Kidding again. I won't promote. ): }

With regard to G+ adding as many WA members as you can is just a starting block as when you share information with them, they in turn with have other people in their networks who will see your posts and so it keeps going. The more people you add then the wider network you will create to share your posts with.

AH! I see, but which posts would those be? Just everyday things? Or is it site related stuff? WA stuff? I do like Twitter. Mostly because it's just silly stuff, banter back and forth. Google seems to want a lot of info.

People share all kinds of things in G+. It's kind of like a "grown up" Facebook. Social sharing without the drama and silliness.

Absolutely anything you want to share, silly stuff, your website, WA... whatever you want

Lol I like the analogy of 'grown up' Facebook... yes, you don't get all the pictures of peoples dinner and every other irrelevant aspect of life.

I see now. Thanks. I was starting to think that it was a dating or "hook-up" site due to the types of questions they ask for your profiles. Thank You for clearing it up.

I don't do Facebook but I do like Twitter! They keep it short, and to the point.

No G+ is pretty good, it's Facebook where I tend to get 'hit on'

I do Facebook but I have 2 accounts, one is purely for family and friends that I really know in person and basically to keep tabs on my 2 teenagers. It's Twitter that I've never quite got to grips with

Hi Debbie. Yes I see you on there all of the time. I am trying to do that too. Good move

My daughter has Facebook and she limits the number of people that are her "friends" or whatever. She mainly got on it for League of Legends gaming. What a nerd!
