Beginning Social Media and PPC Today

Today marks the first day back to a higher level of productivity. My two year old is back in daycare which is tough because there's always a bit of separation anxiety.

Business requires sacrifice.

At one point, I was too soft to make the necessary sacrifices for my growth, but now that I've seen more of my potential when I have undivided work time, I know it's 100% necessary if I really want to encourage others to start and grow businesses as much as I can. Once my son goes back to school later this month, I'll be even more productive during the day.

School is good for them. I've watched my two-year old blow my mind with what she's learning, so even when my heart would cry about having to separate from her, I would re-affirm the positive benefits she has from improve social skills, a set curriculum, and trained instructors. Similarly, my son has grown alot also. Middle school was a big transition for my family considering I homeschooled him majority of his elementary years, but it turned out to be a great decision. His confidence grew, his social circle grew, and overall, I'm very proud of his growth and progress.

Our time together is amazing, but our time away is impactful as well.

I started my day out this morning with gratitude, lots of love from my family, then I went to an Aqua Zumba class to get my work out, set my mindset off on the right track, and to get the oxygen flow going. I mentioned in my last post that I'd be doing lifestyle social media, and I started today!

I took pictures while at the gym, shot a short 1-minute video, and took a picture of my breakfast. I'm trying to challenge myself to do more mobile content creation, let people more into my life, and demonstrate entrepreneurship beyond theory and blog posts.

Social media can be one of the best sales prospecting tools you can come across, but you have to use them in a way that builds trust, authority, and demonstrates your likability. It's great for attracting like-minded people when you know how to optimize with hashtags, great content, and stuff that peaks curiosity and makes others want to engage and follow you.

It's nice to post stock photos and quotes, but it's even better when you can demonstrate the change you're teaching on your blog thru social media--that's my goal over the next 30 days (and possibly more).

Over the last 18 months, I've gotten it to where my SEO practices bring in 10,000+ sessions/mo, and I know continuing with content creation will maintain and increase that. My goal there is to continue posting 12+ posts per month to my blog optimized with video, which equals 24 pieces of SEO content (video and blog posts). I'm using social media to diversify and increase my traffic. Prior to social media and vacation, I was publishing 20+ SEO-optimized posts per month in the building phase. Now, I'm ready for even more growth and more ways of encouraging others to start and grow businesses, which is my mission at my website How to Entrepreneur.

Today was sort of a learning curve with using the social media management software I'll be using over the next month. As a result, I took the pictures, but didn't actually post them. It's a babystep at a time. Now, I've installed the app on my phone, so I'll be able to take my lifestyle photos and videos, then post them on social media right away. Another nice benefit is I'll be able to manage all of my inboxes and engagement from one location--that'll make it much easier to manage it all.

Since I haven't been engaged on social media much, my analytics on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter are pretty dead. Over the next month, I'm hoping to see growth, but I'm not able to predict how much yet. Let's see.

My goal is to take pictures or shoot videos during normal lifestyle moments: cooking, cleaning, exercising, parenting, spending time with my husband, engaging in the community, etc. I'm shooting for at least 5 posts/day on Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Google my Business, and Facebook. It shouldn't take 10 minutes or that's what I think right now. Hahaha. I'll amp it up from there with graphic designed stuff and more market research to get the hashtags right and so on. For now, it's simply getting the posting muscle working again.

In addition to getting started with social media today, I mentioned to you in my previous post that I'll be setting up a PPC campaign. Today is the day for that as well. Hopefully, I can begin setting up my PPC campaign by at least naming the campaign, and doing all of the preminaries with the exception of adding the keywords and the ads. I'll complete the campaign setup no later than Friday, so everything can begin calibrating and my paid traffic can begin rolling in.

Last month I made 21 sales organically and I want to make more than 25/mo going forward, so I can be sure I'll make it to Vegas. I've made 4 sales in August so far, but I want to increase the pace, so let's see how my PPC campaigns work out.

If you'd like to see my 30-day social media challenge in action, follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, Google my Business, Youtube, or Twitter. I'll be posting ad engaging on all of those places over the next 30 days thru a social media management app. So far, Monday has been very productive. I'm hoping to finish the day off with:

  • Beginning the set up of a PPC campaign
  • Recording at least one lesson for my next course
  • Recording a video for Youtube

I hope you're having a very productive day and best wishes in your business growth journey! If you have a chance, leave your comments. Tell me what challenges you're taking on in your business. Have you been doing social media or pay-per-click ads? What results are you getting?

I planned to work hard on my business today but instead i am here babysitter and enjoying it. All because i work too really hard and i don't want us to grow apart. So its a time and place for everything. I really appreciate you for sharing this post. Really motivate me to go harder when tomorrow.

You're welcome! Best wishes in your business.

I appreciate you sharing your progress and goals Tiffany. Your progress has been impressive and causes me to want to put more effort into my own work.
Thanks again.
Ray

Yay! I'm glad sharing my goals has motivated you.

Thanks for sharing and good luck on both fronts

Thanks Dave!

Really looking forward to see how you get on with both SM and particularly PPC. You are amazingly focused when its far to easy not to be so well done.

I have major problems with my back at the moment meaning I can't sit for more than about 10 minutes at a time and as such the last month has been far from productive.

Your mindset rubs off though so rather than using it as an excuse from now I'm going to find a way that I can be productive in short bursts.

Have a great week

I'm so glad it's rubbing off. I'll be sure to let you know how social media and PPC are going for me.

You go girl!!!! You are rocking it.

I too am wanting to do more with social media. In the last couple of weeks, I've been taking a bunch of pictures and video with my iPad which has an extra heavy duty case so that I can carry it around without fears of damaging it - even in horse barns.

After hearing about a blogger friend of mine that has been threatened with a lawsuit/fine because of a use of a photo that they claim he didn't have the rights to use; I am becoming more leery of using stock photographs. If I remember correctly, they are trying to get him to pay $2,000 for his use of it on a motivational type of real estate blog.

My temporary setback with the photos that I have been taking is that the files have been so large that I'm having problems uploading the pictures. I'll get it figured out.....

Tiffany, I hope that you nail the pay for click campaign. If not, I hope your organic traffic continues growing so that you will be like Grace - not worried about PPC.

I'm going. Hahaha.

That's crazy what happened to your blogger friend! There's so many little landmines to avoid. I agree you'll be able to get the file issue figured out. Are you posting directly to social media and having that problem? I haven't encountered that issue before, but if I do, I'll let you know how I overcome it.

I'll share my PPC campagin here, so you can see how it's going.

I'll have to check out your newest training you just posted.

Honestly, I think my friend may have pushed the limits a bit much over a decade of blogging. Too often he used pictures he found on the internet and took an approach that if someone contacted him, he would simply remove the picture. Sooner or later, it caught up with him. His case was a later.

One of my pastor friend's church - got sued early on for a poem posted on the church website. I forget how many thousands of dollars they paid to get the issue to quickly and quietly go away.

I won't bore you with my photo file too big saga at the moment. Today's focus will be starting to do videos daily like you have been doing for months now. :)

Let's stay away from issues like that. Hahaha.

Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

I sure will. Thanks.

Wish you the best in your social media ventures and PPC ads. Let us know how that goes.

Thanks so much Brenda!

You are a great example for all of us. I'm impressed...keep up the great work, as I know you will.

Thanks Fran! I really appreciate your kind words.

PPC is something I am considering for some time, but I am too afraid to go deeper into it because I still don't know a lot of things.

Looking forward to reading your progress! I am very interested in what and how will you manage it all and what will your experience be!

Dalibor

Sure. Would you like to see me record a case study on it?

Good luck! I can't wait to see your success!

Thanks Jackie! I hope to see much success from you also.
