Goddaughter Time!
Isn't she a cutie? That is our sweet, smart, cute Goddaughter Brooklyn. We saw her for an early birthday celebration for her mother this evening.
We hadn't seen her for several months and she is now fully talking. She is 2. She was having fun counting rocks after dinner and enjoyed all the different types of flowers I showed her. We all played neon mini-golf before that.
The older we get the less likely it seems we will have a young child of our own (we hope to adopt someday) so we are extra glad to spend time with her!
I just wanted to share some happy photos after all the smoke and heatwave posts I have made this summer. It was cool (70 degrees!) and not too smoky today.

Thanks. It was 70 yesterday but 80 today. It should not get any warmer than that though...I hope. I don't want to see 90 again.

How sweet! Glad you are having a pleasanter day. We actually got some rain here, finally. Strange to be without it for so long.
I am jealous of rain! We are supposed to get some later in the week finally. It has been a crazy drought here. It was 80 today which is hot for us but better than the 90's we had.
Yes, it's returning to something resembling normal here. We have had two days without rain, but it is supposed to rain tomorrow. Hope you get some soon.
It rained! It must have poured in Eagle River because some streets were flooded by the time I got home last night! It was quite a sight.

At the moment it is bad again here with rising temperatures. Big fires in Portugal, 1600 firefighters and now the army came to also help. 10 Waterplanes in action.

She's such a beauty. Don't know why they call it the "terrible two's". They are so precious when they are just learning how to express themselves and too young to get into any real trouble!
Enjoy her and glad its cooled down there. It's 100 plus degrees in NY but at least the humidity is better than yesterday.

She is so cute! I said "I missed you". and she said "I missed you too". She is talking very well for two I think (not that I know many two year olds). She didn't hardly talk at all until this spring. She was taught baby sign language so she just used that for a long time. We could tell she understood a lot but it is neat to see her talking so well now.
I am sorry you are so hot! It was 80 here which is hot for us normally but not bad compared to the 90's we had.
