Exciting New Beginnings
Hi everyone. I am so excited! I finally signed up with some new affiliates to make the transition away from Amazon. If you read my posts earlier this year you may know I was speeding along toward success and then drove off a cliff in my online business when forces beyond my control derailed me.
Well, after all this time I am back! I can finally go and swap out my links in existing posts to start making money again. I am using FlexOffers now and so far have been approved for PetCo and Jackson Galaxy. They don't pay quite as high a commission as Amazon used to but they are much better than Amazon's current commission levels.
It will be amazing to be able to work on my site again after so long! I am glad WA allows me to have my sites up and running even when I can't work on them. Though none of my Amazon links have been making me commissions for 6 months now, I left them in place so that my readers could make purchases or look at items if they wanted. My ultimate goal is to help pets and their owners so I would rather have a functioning website for my readers even if I don't make any money off of it. I think it was a smart choice since it will be a fairly seemless transition to swap out the links now (functionality wise).
We will see how it goes but I am hoping to start changing over my posts soon. I will miss the ease of use from Amazon. I really like the way their linking was set up and it is easier than the options I have now. Instead of one link that contained both an image and text I will have to copy over an image (which Amazon didn't allow) and add a text link seperatly.
I don't have a one stop shop anymore so I expect way fewer sales at first as people buying cat food can't go and buy a pair of shoes and a coffee pot all at the same time as they could on Amazon. Oh well. Maybe somehow this will be the start a great new chapter for me.
I am optimistic. It took me a long time to get here since I was so busy with my regular job and so discouraged and also waiting to see if the State Attorney General's Office charged me with anything and if I had to get a lawyer to defend myself from their absolutly assinine claims. The Attorney General was subsequently charged with crimes himself and resigned in disgrace so hopefully that is the end of that saga.
