Page Rank Versus Domain Authority
When I look at the number of reviews on Wealthy Affiliate available on the internet, I cannot help wondering how my review would ever fare against so many competitors. And mind you, many of the reviews are just amazing with pretty much every inch of Wealthy Affiliate covered. With such large number of competing pages, whatever permutation and combination of keywords that you try to employ in your review, chances are that hundreds of pages are already there with exactly the same keyword title. So, I can stop imagining that my post would rank even with the best SEO practices. They say I always have scope for making my post stand out, you know, by creating another amazing content. But for my content to stand out from among the crowd, don’t I need it to get ranked in search pages first so that people find it, read it. Social media option? Well, it could be but can that be a long-term strategy?
The other day I read an article that elucidated the relevance of page rank vis-à-vis the domain authority. Domain authority, it seems, is an indicator of the overall quality of a website based on certain factors like:
- The age of the website – the older the better. Old websites are better at asserting its ‘authority’ (new sites have low trust, we all know).
- Number of inbound links – the more the better. Performance of a website is seen to be positive when the inbound links are from reputed websites/blogs. More inbound compared to outbound links is an indicator of trust or authority.
- More pages indexed (this is no big deal, eh!).
- Frequency of content updates. That’s why we are taught to write blog posts regularly (this is manageable).
- Less bounce rate (depends on the quality of the content, the theme, the visuals, and everything).
- Diversifying the content – use of pictures, videos, pictographs (videos, I don’t know but pictures and pictographs, I can).
- Keeping ourselves within the niche (that's not difficult).
I have been wondering if I should wait for things to evolve on its own and keep on writing new posts (valuable ones, of course) frequently instead of getting flustered over the non-existent conversion rate of my website. Like, you know, waiting for my website to gain some authority. When you have domain authority, it seems even cr*#@y articles get ranked. I have seen that some of my pages get ranked easily with long-tail keywords while some do not despite the seemingly good keyword titles (you know, I do a hell lot of keyword research) and with the best SEO methods. So is it domain authority then for me?

I think many of us are in the same boat.
get SEO, content and social media working right and we should be on the way
I still do not know what my daily tasks should be for social media.
.
I have been wondering the same thing, how does a newbie get in the game and to the status of getting articles ranked?
Keep at it. You will find your own audience and it will be your review that is read. Domain authority will come in time but do not underestimate the power of Social media to find your audience.
With Grace and Gratitude
