What will YOUR retirement day be like?
Have you given this question any thought? I mean have you really thought about it? Many of us talk about being able to leave our jobs when our businesses really take off. But have you taken the time to envision it?
This day will happen only once and it would be a shame to squander the opportunities for a few retirement day "shenanigans".
Will you go out in style?
Wouldn't it be cool to have a limousine pick you up at lunch time. The driver standing outside in his tux holding a sign with your name on it. Ready to drive you away from the place you used to work for the last time.
Where would you have him take you? Strait home? Maybe off to get a head start on your retirement party since your co-workers can't leave yet?
Or maybe strait to the dock so you can take your spouse on that cruise. You know..... the one you promised you would take them on when this WA thing started to work.
Maybe a fun Letter of Resignation
Dear (Boss),
I would like to thank you for your years of dedication and service. It has not gone unnoticed. However, I regret to inform you that our employment arrangement is longer viable.
Due to recent changes in my personal financial situation, I will no longer be in need of your services. This recent change has necessitated drastic cut backs in the hours I am available to work including:
- Sleeping until I'm done
- Eating lunch when I choose to
- Going on vacation when I want to
As you can see, these changes in my lifestyle have rendered our previous arrangement untenable. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
(Your name)
Maybe something a bit more subtle?
Maybe you could just send them a message by pinning some mistletoe half way down the back of your shirt :) Who knows, there are lots of things you can do with this. It's your day! Have some fun with it!

Hi Steve! -
It's Great to dream - No it's important that we all have Dreams and Goals!
When we reach one - we replace it with a new one!
Keep Dreaming - keep setting Goals!
** Have A Great Productive Day! **
David
I agree David. A goal is not a final destiny, but a stepping stone on the way up to even bigger things :)
Ooohh my husband would love to write such a letter! I'm gone keep it in store to use it a year from now :) Loes
Hey Steve lol Nice resignation letter. The best one I've read thus far. I'm sure lots of people would love to send that particular letter to their bosses. I have to add this to my favorites. Thanks for sharing.
I never actually envisioned that day. I am going to start, right now. How wonderful it would be to sleep as long as I want, most of all to be able to go on a vacation, or a getaway, and come back whenever I am ready. Thank you for the idea.
Nice. And I'm going to start printing images this week of toys I want for my vision board!
