Expressing Yourself
Mortimer J. Adler — 'The person who says he knows what he thinks but cannot express it usually does not know what he thinks.'
Perhaps an important point in structuring our pages, blogs or websites in regards to clarity?
Hope everyone has a good weekend !

From my Seminary days at St. Ambrose...........I cringe every time I read Latin ! :-) So I now only use the slogan Semper Gumby (Always flexible)
Actually one of the best years of my life was spent with my fellow seminarians. No regrets at all!
How very true.....if you cannot express yourself in some type of manner, then you need to re-evaluate what you think you know. A therapist friend of mine loves to ask 'how do you feel' and when the response starts with the words 'I think....', she cuts the person off and says "I don't want to hear what you 'think', I want to know how you 'feel'...for those feelings dictate what you think you know.... This small conversation says so many things....thank you.
This should be emblazoned across our souls "she cuts the person off and says "I don't want to hear what you 'think', I want to know how you 'feel'...
Somehow, I knew that was coming. Cathy and I watched a PBS special on the Carpenters last night and stayed up until 0130 (lack of judgement). It brought back lots of memories, and I had not idea how talented both of them were regarding writing and producing their own music. Sorrowful that she was taken from us at age 32!
Yeah, they were talented. That era produced so much amazing music-We were lucky to experience it. I'd definitely stay up to listen to that music!
Good - no, excellent! - pointed point. It's always helpful to parse the words in order to say what you mean.
Explanations can then follow if needed,
Perfectly analyzed Carol - but then again that is what you are trained to do. Thanks for taking the time!
Have a good weekend!
No such thing Carol. Not talking ENOUGH is what has put the world where we are now. So, Please keep going !

Very true. Whether we are speaking or writing, knowing our subject will helps us immensely.
In two hours, I am giving a 30 minute presentation at my local congregation on succeeding in marriage. Having researched it well, delivered it many times in other congregations and having a successful marriage of 33 years, I know the subject.
That is the key ! Doing the research and knowing the subject !
