Is This Message I Received From a Wealthy Affiliate Member SPAM?
Greetings to ALL from Adelaide in South Australia...
Just lately the topic of SPAMMING within the WA community has been a hot topic.
Up until now, I have been spared quite a lot of what has been going on!
Yesterday, I was going through my emails as I usually do everyday and one of the emails that appeared on my personal profile page read exactly like this...

I would never have opened this link for fear it might be infected with a VIRUS!

SPAM IS A NO NO HERE!
Spamming members here at WA is against the rules...please click on the URL below and please familiarize yourself with what you can and can't do here...
If you keep on doing it somebody will report you and you WILL lose your ability to communicate with anyone in here!

NO NO Spam. Just a simple introduction to newer opportunity. Take it or just leave it.No obligation but with good faith.

I am not interested in receiving 'a simple introduction to newer opportunity'. And I do not really appreciate being told I can 'take it or leave it' when I wasn't interested in the first place! And whether there is 'no obligation but with good faith' I find offensive to say the least.
You didn't even bother to put a message in what you sent me!
The people here who have invested their time and money have done so to ESCAPE spam and unsolicited offers, whether they be free or not.
Here are the rules for spam within WA. If you go against any of these, you may lose all posting privileges within WA and depending or may be completely removed from WA without the ability to ever join again (yes, we do take this stuff seriously).
1. No unsolicited messages promoting products, services, or outside communication to be sent through private messaging. This will lead to immediate removal of your ability to post anywhere within WA.
4. No promotions with comments or chat. Although these may seem like subtle ways to promote, if you are caught doing this, you will likely lose privileges. If a link is posted out of an act to help someone, not sell something, that is OK.
6. No blog or forum posts that are created for the pure purpose of promoting a product. This does include product reviews. Rants are OK.
9. Do not post content where your readers are required to go to an external website to "read more". All of the content must be self-contained within the post itself.
18. Promoting ANY product whatsoever.
Please take note of point 18 in particular!
If you would like me to take this matter up with Kyle and Carson I will be more than happy to do so.
Obviously, you did not bother to read the rules. If you had read the rules your response to me should have been an apology...not the response you gave with TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!
If you continue with this type of blatant promotion for 'business opportunities' I can assure you somebody will report you as a SPAMMER.

All that I've followed and those that followed me I've shared with them this URL and it seems that you are the only one unhappy with.The only person that will report me will certainly be you.Well, go ahead DUDE!!!.......... Remember the first time your comment surface in my homepage we don't know each other but I did not take it as a SPAM because we are in the community.Well, have it your way DUDE!.LOW MENTALITY................Stop immediately replying this email of mine because I am not interested in your STUPIDITY. I am a pretty easy going type of person.
In my opinion, I feel that I have been more than tolerant with this member and do not expect to be abused as well!

Sorry to hear that this has happened to you, Steve. I myself am afraid of spam even to look at the word spam. I am new to marketing online and hope that it does not happen at all to me or to anyone here in WA for that matter.
I hope that you and the other WA member have resolved it. I am however very sorry that you were mistreated especially from another WA member. One would like to think that this is a respectful community that obtains intelligent minds that are wiser than that. Guess I was wrong.

I think the matter has been resolved in Vancouver!
This guy is SO far out of line that I would question his state of mind or sobriety. Those remarks are TOTALLY uncalled for and I'm sure Kyle and Carson will deal with him.
This is without a doubt the worst kind of behavior I have heard about within the community.

Very good post. After the comment/reply, I would have gone ahead and reported him. That type of attitude is not the type of attitude that makes WA a great community to be involved with. That type of attitude is why the rules exist. Or....at least that is my take on it.
Hi Steve, sorry to hear that you have been verbally abused. I hope this person will get kicked out of WA. As others said before, WA needs to be a safe and spam-free environment. I can't stand foul language.

My sister moved back to Christchurch yesterday after 10 years in Melbourne...if I had more notice and time I would be there for Christmas Day!
I clicked on the link you gave us and there is nothing there except a little flashing box in the right-hand corner. What kind of special offer is this anyway when it doesn't even cover the whole screen.
Seems like spam to me too.
You did the right thing, Steve and the person in question broke the foul language rule too. That kind of abuse.....no one needs.

Well, I didn't actually open it. It looked kind of weird just sitting up in the corner all by itself. That in itself would be a RED FLAG not to open.
Hi Steve, I followed that communication keenly and mostly likely the behaviour is of a spammer. They get badly irritated when you realise they are. Recently I received a call and the caller insisted on telling me about his promotions. Despite the fact that I told him that am not interested he continued talking and got angry at some point and started insulting me because I said this was spam and I'm not ready.
My suggestion would be.
1. Report it as spam as you have already done.
2. Delete this chat so that it may stop distracting you.
3. Forget it and keep working on your business. Some things easily divert us from achieving our goals. Don't let this happen.

I just checked out his profile and he says he is new to online marketing and using computers.
He sure picked up how to spam pretty quickly!

I'm sorry to hear this and I'm doubly sorry that someone would treat such a nice person as you with such disrespect and such abusive language. You had every right to report him. I would have done the same. You should not have been talked to in that awful manner.
