WordPress 4.5 Has Some Known Problems

You may have noticed that when you log into your WordPress account, there is a message for you to update to WordPress 4.5, but it is highly recommended that you do not, because of the numerous issues that have been documented with the latest update to WordPress 4.5

WordPress 4.5 Known Issues

So when you sign into your websites and see the following, just ignore it until everything gets worked out.

If you have already updated and are experiencing problems, my advice is to go to a previous backup version of your website. If you are not backing up your websites, than you definitely should be.

Hear From You

I would love to hear from others whom have upgraded and experienced problems or perhaps you upgraded and everything is going smoothly. Please feel free to comment.

Thanks Steph, I been seeing that in my WordPress too, I'm glad I didn't updated it.

You are quit welcome Anthony. How are you doing so far with WA?

Thanks for the info Steph, I already upgraded but no issues as yet.

Good to hear that all is going well so far.

I have updated a site with no issues that I can see.

That is great to hear!

I decided to do that earlier this week. Thanks Steph.

You are welcome!

How to do backup. I updated to 4.5

Hi Dazir. I sent you a PM. If everything seems to be going well, then you should be fine. But you definitely still should do routine backups. Do you have DropBox?

thank you for your warnings everyone as I do have optimize press plugin and it would definitely affect me.

I also have a Optimize plugin. I am not sure if it is a specific one or if it is all Optimize plugins.

I updated one of my smaller site with no issues to date, but I'm going to hold off on any more until the plugin authors have had a chance to catch some issues and fix them. maybe a week or so.

I am thinking about a week or so too. They should have them more worked out by then.

Hi Steph,
I saw the warnings from Marion AFTER I had upgraded. My site is very basic and simple, no whistles and bells and so far everything is normal. I hope it stays that way and I wish anyone have trouble will have success in correcting the problem(s).
Bill

I think as long as your website is basic and simple - no bells and whistles - as you said you will be fine, but for others like me, I have plenty of bells and whistles and images and banners and customization.

Thanks for the comments and advice. These updates by WP, themes or any other areas must be nightmares for the maker as there are so many websites with so many different configurations. Thanks again for the comments.
Bill

You are welcome Bill.

How do you backup your website as it is on WA site?

This might help:

Good to know! Since Marion posted that thing about being careful about updating because big WP updates often break things, I haven't hit the big update button yet. Glad I didn't, after reading this! Big thank you for posting this.

You are welcome! I am glad you liked it and found it be helpful.
