My NY Resolutions...3 Years Runnin'
...But this year it's getting done and kept up! Already started.
Yep, this resolution has been running for at least 3 yrs now. Guess I've finally grown up enough to clean up my room!
Resolution #1 - Clean up work area
Get Organized
Resolution #2 - Include my bedroom. Flat surfaces are not storage spaces.
(Looks a lot worse in the photo)
Well, in closing this post and Resolution list for this year, I can at least say,
"At least I know where everything is!"
Happy and Safe New Year's Celebration to all. I stay home, warm and cozy.

Hey George - you've just illustrated why most resolutions don't get completed. You clearly didn't want it enough. Good luck if that's what you're determined to do. Happy New Year.
I think you hit the nail on the head there, BIS. I have a different attitude about it this year. And feel much more motivated. Don't plan on being a neat-freak by any means but will at least be more tidy. Have found I hate clutter and tripping over stuff.
Holy Honesty, Batman!!
Hey, George! Ever Google the word SHELVING? lol!
Seriously though, search for "KV Shelving"...Totally saved my life!
Happy New Year!
Wes - you cut me to the quick! It's coming along very well. I've used shelves...I have a lot of books. But they keep falling down. One I had mounted supports right in the wall. Floor to ceiling, made it myself [which is not a bad thing] and thought I had weight distribution working in my favor. House must've settled...yeah, that was it. Took 2 buckets of plaster and materials to rebuild the holes ripped out of the wall. Thanks for the tip on googling KV Shelving. Will take a look-see.
Yes, I did George! It's in that pile over there. Hope your New Year's celebration was all and more than you had wanted. Thanks for the comment.
They say clearing the clutter around you helps to clear the clutter in your mind. Let me know if this is true or not when you're done with the big cleanup George :)
Will do AnnieB - plan on doing a sequel post afterwards. I feel better just getting it done. Doing it isn't hanging in the back of my head anymore. There is an added benefit I didn't expect. Just an overall sense of getting things accomplished. It like connects that sense of knowing what should/needs to be done to actually doing it and experiencing those satisfying feelings. Thanks for the comment AnnieB!
Uhmmm - not sure about that. What about shelves or cabinets?
[ UhOh! there I go trying to talk myself out of cleaning up!]
Great start SpecsShorts's ! Looking forward to seeing your success going into 2014 ! Much $$$$$$ !
These were taken first thing this morning. I've worked on getting it done since then. All I have to do now is sort the piles. LOL
Yes, MyJobKiller - I suspect a clean work place may be of benefit. But, I've always wondered if a cluttered desk indicates a cluttered mind...then what is it that an empty desk indicates?

I can relate that flat surfaces are there for all the clutter. The law firm took away as many flat surfaces from me so they would not be stacked up with files and cluttered with papers. But then the floor took its place.
You will feel much better once the clutter is all gone. I recommend plastic storage boxes and label them. They come in various sizes and shapes. That way you can put certain items in them, stack them and know what is in the boxes when you are looking for something.
Good luck and all the best to you in 2014.
Debbie
That's funny, Deb, about the floor. Ha! Let's see them get around THAT problem! Plastic boxes are a good idea. I've kinda started doing that. Find that most of it, however, is disposable/outdated. First off I'm setting up a filing system and I got the stuff already for that. Thanks for the help, Debbie.
