Just wondering why Filezilla would suddenly fail to connect. It was working fine and I've changed nothing.
Hi, Caninable, it it can NOT happen ...hang around fliezilla ftp and it will. I can't help you, But, of course, all this is way above my Pay Grade! Some one will come up with something which I will also want to see, if any!
Mike! Thanks for your concern, sir! The problem has been solved!! I've been going back and forth from my place to my Mom and Dad's trying to get their place painted, and it just so happened that I was doing all my successful FTP stuff from THEIR place. It did not occur to me that I hadn't ever connected FTP here, until just yesterday, so I went in and checked the Router Settings...YEP!! That was the trouble!!
I will have to study up on the possible pitfalls in having changed the settings, but at least I can get in now, adjust and create Child Themes, and so forth.
So, thanks again! It was the damn router. lol
My guess would be that you did change something and didn't realize it. I know that's not the answer you're looking for...just mentioning it because I've done it before.
Turn off firewall
Switch Active/Passive
Turn off antivirus
Double check password and login is correct
You can also reuse old login info from the arrow next to "quick connect", so it's worth a try if the login you used two weeks ago is still listed.
Or you could try CoreFTP, but we've had this discussion before :)
Thanks, Nat....I have tried Core, it didn't work, and I can't find any specific guidance here. I am going to take ONE MORE SHOT at Firezilla, as you said, it's always possible that SOMETHING got tweeked somehow, but whatever -I Don' Theenk So! lol
Thanks for the backup.
So, yeah...it wasn't any setting on the computer that changed. It was my LOCATION that changed. When I initially set up Firezilla, I was using another Router. It never occurred to me that the default Router settings would be different, but that was it.
So you've got it fixed now?... Ok just read that you fixed it. Sounds good man. I've been there
Pointless, I guess, to express complete and utter frustration after having solved this problem over two weeks ago, only to be wasting more time at it now. There really should be a simple guide to this, including Dreamweaver settings. It is NOT a difficult issue requiring tutorials. But it's an #A1 Pain in the butt to figure out from scratch.

Thanks again for the help, everyone. It was a Router Setting. I will return and report details on said, after I go back in there(or recall the acronym).
