Am I Cuckoo?

Hi everyone, just thought I would take my head out of the WA cloud and be sociable for a few minutes.

Wealthy Affiliate has become such a natural part of my life now, that my daily conversations with so called "normal people" (relatives and friends outside of the internet world) - think I am a bit "cuckoo" and think that I am in some kind of mid-life crisis and that I will soon come out of it.

Okay, to be fair to them, I have joined so many online programs in the past (too many to count), that they have witnessed my going from the stage of being a zealot; so passionate about what I have joined and ready to spear anyone who attacked my 'new-found money making scheme' to a state of blubbering mess all within a few months.

I think this time round, they are counting and would prefer the quick turn around, because they think I am 'cuckoo' and slightly on the bender the longer I stay active in WA.

I just cannot help it, I don't even think addict is the right word to describe me anymore.

The worst part is after explaining to them what I am doing and how much WA means to me, they give me that final question (one I always try to avoid):

"so how much do you actually earn now, if you really believe, it is, that good?"

Haha - even though I give my best reply, I can never give them a satisfactory answer...but you know what?

Maybe I am cuckoo.

I wonder how many of you get that same reaction also? lol.

Have a cuckoo day :)

Hello Snazzy, I do think you that might appear to be cuckoo to the people outside of W/A but if you are cuckoo, then a lot of us are cuckoo too. (hahaha)

Haha the wealthy affiliate cuckoos has a nice ring to it :)

Great post Snazzy!! I can totally relate. LOl. Since I gave up trucks my phone is ringing and wanting me to work.
And I say no time!!
When I tell them why... they say are you nuts. Why??

They don't understand and say "come on Ken!"
Let me know when you find the right words!!

You are on a new great endeavour Ken, as we all are. A lot of people still do not get it.
Best regards from México.
Eugenio.

Thanks! Somebody understand!!

Haha I am laughing just reading your comment Ken, thanks :)

I totally empathise with what you are saying, Llaisaane, and also with MikeAdkins and Wdcope.
No-one outside of WA thinks I am going anywhere with this and I've even had an argument with my wife over the monthly subscription fee.
The prophets of doom only strengthen my resolve to carry on and build a successful business.
Wishing you success,
Steve.

Yes Steve, I get the husband frowning with the subscription fees also...he started off being my greatest supporter and now he is number one fan of the no-cukoos lol...I think the longer he sees no earnings, he is starting to wonder who I have become...it is difficult, but happy that he loves me enough to stay.

Wishing you all the best also and thanks :)

Hang on in there, Llaisaane, I’m sure the day will come when our respective spouses appreciate our efforts, especially when the commissions start coming in!
Steve.

Thanks Steve :)

You are not cuckoo! I am not the one to tell you about how much you can earn, but I can tell that these WA’er’s will not let up stumble or even allow you to become discouraged. I early in my journey I got really discussed and was ready to hang it up.

Through private messages they got me past the discouragement and have been helpful beyond believe. I find these folks are the bestest ever. They are very helpful when I have questions, they are supportive and friendly.

Don’t let the nay sayers rule.

Barry

Thank you Barry, at least I have a fan in you and thank you for your great encouraging words :)

Always the same look but you are not cuckoo.

They still live in that negative place of old where you should put your head down just do the work, Work the 40 plus hours, listen to what your boss tells you to do or you are out and take life as is it without question.

Also, accept whatever pay they fell you should get not what you really deserve.

Then they wonder why life is so harsh and toward the end of their years when about to retire they can't and think all this effort and hard work and I have nothing to show.

Besides, you are going forward to doing what you love what they are doing work most likely out of necessity without love.

Makes you wonder who is the real cuckoo with that mindset?

Andre

I agree with you Andre.
Greetings from México.
Eugenio.

Thank you Eugenio send greetings back from Australia.
Enjoy your evening and week ahead.

Andre

Thank you my dear friend,
for always reassuring me that I am on the right path :)

You are always welcome and of course, you are on the right track you follow me LOL heheheheh

You are doing great remember to always believe in yourself
Have a great day

Andre

Thank you, Ilaisaane, for reminding me that we're all in the same boat.

I've spent so much money over the years joining programs that promised much but delivered little and others that actually delivered a lot but somehow I could never achieve the desired results.

WA IS different. The only thing it promises is that if you follow the training, work hard and do it for long enough, success will follow.

While I am writing this, a note popped up with an Outlook message, subject "How to turn $9.97 into $200 a day." Fortunately, I ignore them all.

How do I handle sceptical friends and relatives? Easy, I don't tell them. Maybe when I'm making a couple of thousand a month (a week would be better).

They'll just have to wait.

Thank you Phil,
for the encouragement :)

How funny! I can relate to what you are saying all too well. Just today I was trying to explain to a friend why I considered the time spent on my website as investment.

It would be nice if we could say, "After we put in 200 hours, we will get this much. After we put in 300, we will get this much."

Oh well...just another example why the WA community is such an asset. Most of us are cuckoo.

Thank you my cuckoo friend, who is the bestest Wa-er :)

Awe!!!!

Love your post. Been there still doing that, except for that I don't tell anyone anymore, for reasons you said, and they rain on my parade! NOPE, I won't let anyone do that to me anymore.
In my 61 years on this earth, I have done quite a bit and tried some many business opportunities.
I have made the decision to go into consulting in what I am the best in, and that is communication.
Sooo. with that being said, I too have woken up to WA, and go to sleep with WA in my head. And I am intoxicated with the people, and learning daily.
If you're cookoo, SO AM I. we're in the same group....

Thank you Carla my new WA cuckoo friend, for understanding my dilemma and yes, sadly I will have to shut up some day about my new life too :)

Ha ha 😋 this made me smile. You could have written much of this post for me! Mid life cuckoo Mike! X

Hi and thank you mid-life cuckoo Mike :) great to meet another :)

Every day from my spouse! All the relatives have the standard 9-5. Go for less but its steady comments! I understand completely.

Yes, I always tell my husband that it is coming and that he will be the happiest man when I pay him out of his job one day - he rolls his eyes back lol.

Thank you :)

I guess we will have to prove it to them. :)

Yes - thats why I am being 'cuckoo' :)
