How Do You Manage Your Time?

Started to lose my way just a little. I want to keep my niche semi broad so I can communicate with Youth Football Players, 6-12 years old, their Parents, and their Coaches. I started going into full Coach mode, actually stopped writing for a week.

Back at it now. But I do have a need for some feedback.

How do you manage your time? Being a part of WA can seem a little overwhelming. And then I'm not writing, not affiliating. How do you break up your time.

I am semi retired and want to do this for several reasons, but not all day and all night.

Thoughts.

You managing youth football players, parents, fans, coaches, man that's a full time job! Better you than me! Youth sports aren't what they used to be years ago.

Really appreciate all of the input here, extremely helpful. I "think" I was looking for there to be some secret formula. Sounds like the only formula there is, is a personal one.

I do like the 1/4 3/4 idea. Given the way my mind works, I will probably find a way to modify that and make it my own.

Thank you all.

It can be helpful to come up with a schedule of tasks so you can put limits on yourself of how long you focus on specific things. For example, schedule a block to review WA emails, and respond. Schedule a block to research and write blog posts, that could be daily, every few days, or once a week, depending on how frequently you want to add new content to your site. Schedule time for learning new skills, and always schedule in time for yourself and your family. The last is the most important because it easily gets left out when building a business. Many commonly take the approach that the harder, and longer I work, the faster I will achieve success, but working from dusk till dawn commonly results in burnout. A Work/life balance is key to success, but only you can determine what kind of balance works best for you.

It is really up to you what you put into it is what you get out of it

Hi Skip,
This is like asking "how long is a piece of string?" There is no correct answer. Every single WA member's situation is different from the next and it's for you to decide how much time you can realistically commit to your online venture. Remember, this is not a sprint, it's a marathon.
You appear to have a lot of commitments outside of WA and, bearing in mind those commitments, you need to decide how much time you can realistically commit to WA, on a daily basis. In doing this don't forget to allow yourself some 'you' time as well. Just do what you can.

split your time during the day, say answering WA stuff to 30 mins- 1 hour and the rest of the time you work on your website, how ever long you want to spend on the website. Say if you have 2 hours in the day for this stuff then you spend 1.5 hours on the website. hope this helps

Hi, Charles
Paul here from Canada.
Avid fan and assistant football coach to 6-12 year old's when my son was in that range.

Great picture by the way on your post...is that your son?

"Time."

I'm going to use something borrowed from the Internet and let's see what we can come up with.

"Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day-to-day. Every evening it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during that day. What would you do? Draw out every cent. Each one of us has such a bank. It’s called time. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night, it writes off as lost whatever you have failed to invest wisely. It carries no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day, it opens a new account for you. If you fail to use the days deposit, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the tomorrow. You must live in the present on today’s deposit. Invest it in every opportunity. The clock is running. You’ve got to make the most of today right here, right now."

The only way that I have been able to 'mange time' is to 'prioritize.'

Great post, Skip and a great 'segway' into many other posts that you will produce and share, I'm sure.

Nicely done.

Paul.

Thanks for the 'Like,' Charles.
Onward and upward.

Paul.
