Exactly how I feel! However maybe once one "gets into the psyche of the machine?" (I was once taught most of I what know about Dos, in an afternoon by a 14yr old, years back, and I still use it sometimes today. Guess with all this "mousing around" we get lazy:)
Excellent modifier, Kim. . . . once you understand it I don't so I leave my hands in my lap unless I have someone talking me through it. And then I still shake a bit. LOL
My ex husband was an IBM programmer, I used to watch him work with code all the time. Of course that was a bit different, the old DOS.
I have a logical mind, I guess that is why it makes sense. :))

Yes I would create child theme first and would do all this on Locally installed WP or on Test site.
I would personally would not use @import is CSS as some people do but it is just me. If you interested you can check some info on this here (http://gtmetrix.com/avoid-css-import.html)
PS. I plan to create My Own Version of Child Theme creation training by Sunday.

I did a google for my website and see it only comes up with prefixes such as domain-kb.com/ which then takes it to some strange site with a whole lot of vague info. What i
You should check your DNS transfer to make sure you did it correctly. If your provider if Name cheap than go there or to whoever you registered with.
Thanks. I did go to Namecheap and what support I got on online chat was inconclusive (not sure if it was a bot!) The transfer went through fine. People can access my site with no problem and I can access from a document etc . just that in Google it comes up with the prefix domain-kb.com/ which seems to be some registration check site. Maybe I should check with Google. I am sure it will get sorted eventually.

Thanks for comments and help guys...To answer my own question I've just worked it out (Mr Wailor you come first for getting close!) In more detail: I went to Appearances>Menu>Edit Menus>Links (press drop down arrow) Add # in Url and Add the name label in Link text. Certainly an ongoing learning curve this!
I think I know what you are talking about with submenu's, so I'll explain how I do it. I basically do out the category pages for my menu items with some extra information. For example, if I was doing something like video games, maybe I would have a setup like this:
Consoles
--Sony
-----Playstation 4
These would all be pages, but since consoles is vague, and Playstation 4 is very specific, I can talk about the in between for the Sony page.

Static page or post doesn't make a different. It is what you have on it that counts. Focus on building content for your visitors.
