Day 2 of looking for Guest Blogging opportunities!
Hey friends, this is day 2 of me looking for other bloggers who're willing to expand their reach by trading guest posts! I'd love to write a guest post for your blog and in turn I'll publish your blog post on my blog so that we can both improve our reach!
My blog currently gets about 400 visits each month and is in the Make Money Online niche. I post about affiliate marketing, productivity, email marketing and entrepreneur mindset (e.g. staying consistent).
Let me know if you're interested in trading guest blogs and I'll be happy to help each other out in expanding our reach!

Hey Sandro,
I would hazard a guess there's a few reasons that you're not receiving much feedback from members here.
Plus, there are also a few things you should be aware of.
Firstly, asking flat out here on the platform, IN MY MIND, would be seen as a "no-no", as it is slightly self-promotional (yes, I understand that there would be an "exchange", but you will still benefit from this, and therefore I would view it as "self-promotional" <---- We DO NOT do this at Wealthy Affiliate).
Next, for those less experienced in online marketing, SEO, etc. I would guess that they are slightly intimidated by your post, as they may not completely understand the concept, or they feel that their traffic levels aren't enough, etc.
This moves us onto the more experienced and successful members here.
While you're clearly making a decent start to your affiliate marketing career, there are those who will obviously be in the many tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of visitors every month.
Undoubtedly, when you get to this level of traffic you'll have a content marketing plan, which will typically involves outsourcing writing anyway.
So, with all due respect to you of course, there's not much in this for a website owner such as this (you would typically want a "link" from a website with a higher Domain Authority than your own - I would always suggest a MINIMUM of DA30 for a backlink, but preferably something DA60 and above).
Okay, now let's move onto the "legalities" and how this is viewed by Google.
Now, obviously link exchanges, guest posts, purchasing backlinks happens EVERY SINGLE DAY online, although many of these things are against Google's Webmaster's Guidelines.
As an example, excessive link exchanges are in violation of these guidelines and are likely to lead to a manual penalty if/when this comes to light.
Trust me, it could take a few years to recover from a manual penalty, if EVER!
Essentially, asking someone to "swap guest posts" is the same as a link exchange (a link exchange is usually what's known as a "niche edit", you edit one of your articles to include a link to my site, and I do the same for you)... so be very careful when doing this ON A PUBLIC PLATFORM!
Okay, guest posts aren't inherently bad, but it's how they are often obtained that can led to manual penalties, i.e. exchanging links or money swapping hands (but, as I say, this occurs daily, many people "get away with it", many don't).
However, by performing simple outreach (typically by email) to RELEVANT websites, this isn't such a problem.
In fact, here's an excerpt from the Google Search Central Blog:
“Google does not discourage [guest posts] in the cases when they inform users, educate another site's audience, or bring awareness to your cause or company.”
That being said, I would say that most WA users are still somewhat wary, as backlinking doesn't form part of the core training and is hardly ever spoken about on the platform (I personally have published TWO WA blog posts on Backlinks, and I have hardly seen any others published here in Wealthy Affiliate's 18-year history).
What you can do is actually find bloggers online who are willing for others to write guest posts on their websites.
You will still need to do your due diligence, as just because another webmaster is willing to accept guest posts it doesn't mean you should.
Personally, I would want to know the Domain Authority of the website, I'd look through Ahrefs or Semrush (which you can do for free) to see "potential" traffic and keywords that they are ranking for.
Remember, obtaining a backlink from a "poor source" can actually harm your own website and rankings.
In order to find guest post opportunities simply type one of the following into the Google Search Bar:
keyword + “submit a guest post”
keyword + “guest post”
keyword + “guest post by”
keyword + “accepting guest posts”
keyword + “guest post guidelines”
Obviously, replace the word keyword with a specific keyword associated with the sites you wish to write for, e.g. affiliate marketing, make money online, work from home, etc.
Plus, ensure that you keep the quotation marks in place as above.
Hope that all makes sense?
Partha
I know I haven't published on the platform for a while LJOB, but you know me... why write a sentence, when you can write 30!!! Hahaha!!
PP
Thank you Partha for taking the time to answer in such detail! I'm new to guest posting and I figured before I reach out to blogs on the internet I'd first go to the community I'm a part of as I thought we're encouraged to help each other out here on Wealthy Affiliate.
Did I get that right that you'd encourage me to not incorporate guest posting as a strategy in growing my blog at all as it might harm my blogs performance? Thanks for the clarification!
Sandro
Hey Sandro,
No worries.
Firstly, of course, yes, we should all be helping each other out on the platform, we're family! :)
However, "helping each other out" shouldn't have ANY promotional intent to it (I'm not saying it doesn't happen on the platform, but usually in private. Most members are aware that Diane and myself have collaborated of a number of projects).
As for guests posts, sure, it can be highly effective, but as with most things online there's a learning curve to it.
As an example, the last thing you'd want to do is to write a guest post on a website, link back to your own website, only to later learn that the website in question is viewed as spam by Google, and has received a manual penalty.
The knock-on effect could impact your own website.
So, guest posts are brilliant if/when done correctly, but as I say, there's so much ore than simply writing a post on someone else's website.
That being said, it is a fantastic way to grow your brand and reach a wider potential audience, and I am one of the many who believe that backlinks are important as part of your SEO strategy.
What may be better is to first read my two blog posts about "alternative ways" to obtain backlinks and to get greater audience reach.
You've actually got the right idea - build relationships with those in your niche, it's just the execution is a little misguided.
Not to worry, at least you're learning.
Here's the two blog posts I've previously written about obtaining backlinks (and building relationships, which may lead to future guest post opportunities - these blog posts also explain in more detail what you should be looking for). Hi - I did take a look at your website out of curiosity.
Your WA review contains out-of-date information.
For example, there is no longer any discount on the first month of joining.
The pricing is incorrect for the annual memberships.
And you have made no mention of the free .com domain offered to the members, which is a big selling point.
You might wish to familiarize yourself with the current platform and write a revised review.
You also need to be careful that you are being honest with your readers.
Your recent post stating that you received 70 referrals in one day, seems somewhat exaggerated.
According to the members listed in your network, you only appear to have 5 referrals in total.
If you do get any new referrals, they may be somewhat reluctant to upgrade if they can't trust what you have said.
Thank you Diane for pointing that out! I wasn't aware that Wealthy Affiliate changed the pricing. I'll update the review accordingly.
As for the 70 referrals post, that's a blog post published on Wealthy Affiliate by roopekiuttu as I thought it might encourage people to have a look at Wealthy Affiliate and see what's possible. I'll consider taking it off the blog or making it more visible that this is a shared post, thanks for pointing it out!
