It has been a long time since the last TikTok 101, but here is the next step after getting acquainted with the platform.

The next step is to understand the elements of creating a TikTok video, in order to utilize the platform to the maximum effect.

The Look and Format of TikTok Videos

As other platforms, TikTok has its own look, feel and way to show the posts you publish. It is important to follow the framework to get your posts lifted to the front page of TikTok and your target audiences.

TikTok videos are often quick to the point, they are visually catchy, and they are created by real people like you and me.

The format of TikTok videos is vertical, so get adjusted to it as landscape videos will look kind of strange on the platform.

Check your framing and spacing when you post. Make sure to center your video and prevent it to be covered by the icons, text and labels that will appear on the screen.

Sound and Music

A good video is always accompanied by the proper and catching sounds that will make the video stand out from the rest of the videos of TikTok.

Viewers will hear the sound of your video and will interact with the video based on both the image and the sound. We all know how boring movies without sound is.

TikTok has a massive library of songs and sounds that can accompany your videos. The library is different from the different type of accounts you can create on TikTok. As such the available sounds on a creator account and a business account are different. I have found out why yet. But I will come back to why in a later post.

The sound of your video can be connected to a certain trend, a certain mood you want to convey or you want to have the original sound without adding anything more.

The Story of Your Video

Storytelling is important in all affiliate marketing and is at the heart of TikTok videos as well. Remember the formula of the Hook, Story, Offer that you should use to catch your target audience attention.

So having the formula in mind, structure your videos like a story. Create a beginning with something that catches the attention, fill it in with the body of the story, and round it off with a smashing ending.

What you want is to keep your audience. You will notice after a while how long your audience is staying to watch your video. If they don´t stay for the fill video, you need to make some adjustments.

Be Diligent With The Details

Make tour videos interesting, paying attention to the details. Write clear descriptions in the videos you post in order to enable your target audience to quickly understand what you’re trying to convey. The use of relevant hashtags is central to get more views, to make it easier for viewers to find your videos.
