Check Your Email Campaign Triggers Before Importing New Subscribers

Oops, I Did It Again! 😫 🤣 The Lesson learned is to check your email campaign triggers before importing new subscribers to your Email Autoresponder.

I Am On A Roll - A Roll Of Errors

It seems like I am on a roll of making errors for the last few days. This second one in a short time frame is not to check the triggers for new subscribers to my list in my new Autoresponder.

The result was a "thank you for signing up to my list" email to all of my email subscribers. I didn´t realize the error before I received two emails, one email to each of my test addresses, plus a response from one of the email subscribers. Understandably, she was confused and asked what she had subscribed to.

The Solution Is Full Transparency - Admit Your Error

There was only one thing to do. Write a broadcast email and tell your subscribers what happened and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

As it is with everything in the world and the Universe, there are at least two sides to everything.
In this case, to good part is that I get to check who is active on my list and who is not.

It was not intended, but it ended up being a beneficial side effect of triggering my welcome email campaign.

What Will Error Number Three Be?

Everything happens in groups of three. Now I just have to wait for the third error to happen. I wonder what it will be this time. What blooper can I cause this time? Any bets?

What blooper did you do today? Comment and Share!

Now it is off to bed for me 😴

Ah, yes, those bloopers sneak in there, no matter how careful we are.

I've done a lot of stuff today, but the biggest blooper came when I put a picture of a cat in my media library that was mislabeled. Fortunately, I discovered the error before publishing, and changed out the picture for the right one.

People generally like cats, Fran :-)

It seems like you have a good working routine!

Roy

Admitting the mistake can be beneficial.
I'm on lots of email lists and they all make mistakes from time to time :-)

Yes, I have noticed errors on emails from the lists I am signed up for as well.

It makes the interaction seem a little bit less "robotic"

Roy

Roy, look at the bright side, you learn a lot from the errors, although some can be perceived errors. There may be instances when an error actually turns in to a huge success. Either way, it is simply a part of the continual learning that we all do, my friend!

Jeff

Right on, Jeff. Never Stop Learning 💯💪

Roy

Thanks, Roy! I don't think any of us can, there is just so much to learn!

Jeff

Sounds like a plan. Admitting mistakes is sometimes a great way to personalise your campaigns. It gives you and your readers a point to laugh about. I might even try it deliberately.

Before the mail was sent

I had cleaned my list before I imported it into the new autoresponder. The list is only 146 subscribers left, of a list of 800.

Of the 146, 23 have opened the apology email, and so far only 3 have unsubscribed.

I know that I have 23 that are engaged, and could maybe clean the list even more.

Roy

Looking at the 80/20 , they were your 20% of stallions. Well worth keeping.
Great results.
Stephen

The blooper blogger. You should patent that.

Whatever number 3 is you will overcome.

I have no doubts.

Alex

Great idea Alex :-D
