UPDATE 2 (11th September 14:15 Oslo time)

This morning I had a feedback from Pinterest on my written appeal on the suspension I have received. They are very quick to respond and that is very good.

But, the feedback was negative. The say that they have blocked my website from Pinterest as my website has some activity that goes against Pinterest Spam Policy.

So, in other words, my website which is a blog about dogs, and things that are good for your dogs has been deemed as a spammy website...

I do not have a lot of traffic on the site yet, and there is not much affiliate links either, nor a lot of banners (only three banners in total). What Pinterest sees as spammy activity is unknown to me.

Pinterest only say that "some activity" is considered spam, I cannot check what this activity is, As I don´t know what it is.

I am not impressed and I think this is unprofessional of Pinterest. They cannot accuse users "something" as the cause of suspension and not define and describe what this "something" is.

Nevertheless, I can appeal once again, within the next 7 days, and I will do that.

UPDATE!

I just got response from Pinterest on my appeal to re-activate the Pinterest account that was suspended earlier today. My appeal was rejected😖

That means that the Pinterest account for my dog niche is permanently shut down by Pinterest and that all my work since March this year is "lost" at the moment.

I am not giving up and my next step is a written appeal and request, explaining in detail the reason for my appeal. There is a spcific contact form on the Pinterest home page that can be used for this purpose. The written appeal and request will be sent to Pinterest in a few minutes.

I will keep this thread updated.

Original post:

I got suspended again on Pinterest! Last time, in the middle of Juy, it was on my other niche Coffee, Beer and Gadgets. This time it is my dogs niche and its Pinterest account that has gotten the heat from Pinterest.

The process of complaining is straight forward, click on the link provided in the email I have received form Pinterest, that explains why I have been suspended and what to do. Obviously the reason is the same as last time, violation of their Spam policy.

What is interesting is that I have been pinning one or two pins that I have made myself each week, on a regular basis . There is about 1 week since I pinned one of my own pins.

Today I was working on a new pin in my Pinterest accoun dashboard. Everything was complete exept selection of the board to which the pin would be published. It is my own board.

When Did the Suspension Occur?

What happended was that as I tried to select the correct board, no boards showed up, and the Pinterest window seemed to freeze. And then this message popped up (It is in Norwegian), it says that the account is temporarily suspended due to the reason provided earlier):

This is exactly the same M.O. from Pinterest as the last time. I got suspended doing exaclty the same thing, normal pinning of one newly produced pin to my own board.

I think Pinterest´s AI controlling the pinning process needs an adjustment.

What to do next?

First I need to complain to Pinterest to have them look at this one more time with human eyes, and then wait a couple of days for the response. It should be re-activated again.

If they decide to not re-activate the account I will have to send them an E-mail to explain the situation.

Some Final thoughts

If you get a suspended from Pinterest, breathe slowly and follow the instructions from Pinterest to re-activate your account. These things happens sometimes, but usually they get fixed fairly quickly.

Have a great day everyone!

Jeez, That's extremely frustrating, I don't think I'll ever deal with Pinterest after ready that story, I wish you luck moving forward. Best wishes.. John

Hi John. It is frustrating, but this is a part of the "game". When there is automation software controlling a part of social media, there will be incidents like this. But that doesn´t make the "bitter pill" easier to swallow.

Social media can be a big driver of traffic to your niche website, so I will continue to use them, even if it in between can be frustrating.

Thank you for your encourgament😊

I guess it's like the old saying, Chin Up. It could be worse, and I get it, however I can feel your frustration for sure. Me being a rookie, that was a horrible story, now I know what I have to look forward to LOL.

👍🏼😊

Sorry to hear about this happening again ☹️ I agree - the entire process is AI controlled. It is good to hear that there is a clear process to reactivate your account. However, it takes away precious time and is a major nuisance. Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm curious as to whether you can speak to a live person. It doesn't sound as though they do. It's more than frustrating when talking to someone can correct the problem in short order, while the back and forth can drive you crazy.

Although, I understand with the number of people on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter they would have to hire a large number of representatives to help everyone who encounters a problem. Still, it's frustrating. I think the adage "patience is a virtue" applies.

Hi, Elaine, Accoridng to Chris you can call them as well. I haven´t found the phone number yetm but that will be my next step if the written request doesn´t work.

-Roy-

Hopefully, you'll find the number. I've run into that problem as well and you start to wonder if they're doing it on purpose.

Congrats Roy. You have far more patience than I do. :-)

I think it was about a year ago, I closed all my Soc Media accounts, but have since opened them up, but I have not been using them yet. Plenty to do elsewhere. I don't like how Social Media has become biased against certain groups. Its hard to support them when they are like that.

Best wishes!

Mel

Thanks, Mel. I understand very well your position on Social Media.

Hi Roy, Sorry to hear about the hassle. Same thing happened to me back in January. I have a travel site and someone inquired about a destination I posted. I got suspended before I had a chance to reply. They said I exceeded the retail tolerance threshold. Pretty fancy term.

If you call them direct it will speed things up a bit to get reactivated. Best of luck, Chris

Hi, Chris. Thank you for your good advice 😃.The other account was re-activated quite quickly.

I will call them if the haven't re-activated the account by Saturday morning. In the mean time I will produce new pins for it and focus on my other 2 niches instead.

-Roy-

Sounds like you got your act together brother all the best Chris

😊
