10,000 Subscribers – A Small Reflection

I have just hit a milestone on YouTube that I’m genuinely grateful for,10,000 subscribers.

When I first started the channel, I had no grand plan or growth hacks. I simply shared what I was learning, tested ideas in public, and tried to be consistent, but I was far from consistent. In fact, in around four months, I have gone from 700 subscribers to 10,000+ subscribers Some videos worked, but others didn’t, but each one taught me something, the fact is we never stop learning.

Sometimes we just need to wait for that break out of video, which happened to be on this channel and on other channels. On another channel, I have a video that has reached over 1/4 of a million views, I didn't expect it to gain much traction.

What this milestone really shows me is the value of sticking with something long enough for it to compound. Being sporadic is not good, and something that I am not proud off. In the Internet marketing world, it pays to be consistent, which I haven't been, which is really due to having an off-line business.

One thing I know is that we have to keep moving forward and we need to try and learn something new each day, we cannot afford to stand still.

A few thoughts and questions, have you started a YouTube channel? And what is your biggest traffic source.

Thank you for reading and please get involved in the conversation.

You to, Roy.

Excellent milestone Roy.

I have a YT channel but no where near the subs you have, though in the new year I plan to post more consistently.

As for my biggest traffic sources,...mmm stats show my blog is, followed by some safelists.

I track using two types of tracker. One is for safelists, the other is pretty links which is on my blog and that I plan to make my main hub if that makes sense.

Have a good Christmas

Thank you, Dave, I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

One thing I should have mentioned, is that subscribers are good, many people find our videos through YouTube search. Having said that, if I was looking for a how-to video, and there were two videos the same, I would probably go for the video with more subscribers, so there are definitely a few benefits.

It's interesting, the different ways that we can get traffic to our website, Dave, I think it's good to have our website as a firm foundation. We can then use other sources to bring people to our website. I started a Facebook page, around six weeks ago, I'm not a fan of Facebook, but it does seem like people are getting results with the platform, which is good.

A very happy Christmas to you.

Congrats on hitting 10,000 subscribers, Roy — that’s a huge milestone and well earned.

What really stood out to me wasn’t just the growth, but your honesty about inconsistency and learning in public. That part resonates a lot, especially for those of us balancing an offline business alongside online efforts.

The reminder about compounding is spot on. Most people quit long before momentum has a chance to show up, and often the breakout comes from something we didn’t expect to perform well at all.

I haven’t launched my YouTube channel yet, but it’s very much on the list — and posts like this are a good reminder that progress doesn’t come from waiting for the “perfect” plan, but from staying in motion long enough for things to stack.

Appreciate you sharing the reflection, and congrats again on the milestone.
Thanks, and Have a Great Day!

I think that consistency is really key, when it comes to marketing online.

I always think that YouTube is a great way to get traffic, I actually find it easier than blogging, as I feel I can explain myself better. Don't forget that we can practice our videos, before we publish, but sometimes it's just good to start!

A very happy Christmas to you, Chuck.

Would love to start a channel, but I’m not very comfortable showing my face to public, or even talking live - I’m not a native English speaker. I don’t like the idea of faceless/AI voice videos, as for me, personally, I would ignore such videos and search for real people explaining stuff.

Thank you for your comment and your honesty, Nick, it's appreciated.

I think the confidence comes, Nick, once we get started on YouTube. Lots of my videos are how to videos, so I just have a small picture of myself, in the right-hand corner of the screen, as I'm sharing my screen. In this way, I'm focusing more on showing people something, rather than thinking about what I look like, etc, if that makes sense. Don't forget, you can do some practice runs, you don't have to publish immediately, but sometimes it's just good to get started.

I also appreciate that not being a native English speaker makes a huge difference, I'm currently learning Greek, so I have great respect for people who speak different languages, it's not easy.

It seems like great minds think alike, Nick! I couldn't agree with you more, I'm afraid I see many people on this platform making these AI videos, I can't get away from them quick enough. Like you, if I want to learn about something, I want the real deal and someone's genuine experience. I'm here to help if you have any questions about YouTube.

A very happy Christmas to you, Nick, I see that you're a Christian in your profile, that's great, I am too!

Roy

I haven't started one but would love to. Congrats on reaching 10k subscribers.

Thank you for commenting, David, it's appreciated.

The good news is that it's never too late to study YouTube channel, David, that we all have something to bring to the table. I see fine YouTube, easier than blogging, probably as I can explain myself easier, if that makes sense.

A very happy Christmas to you.

Roy

Well done Roy, that's excellent progress - 700 -> 10,000 in a few months! Very encouraging. I haven't as yet started a you tube account, but its another something on the list of things to do and create.

Congrats to you!

Thank you for taking the time to comment, Cherie, it's appreciated.

I think the biggest thing that has grown the channel's consistency and a few breakout videos.

It almost seems easier to create a YouTube video than a blog post, as I feel that I can explain myself in a better way. The good thing is with video, is that we can practice, before we publish. Although, I believe that as soon as we make a start with video, the quicker we will improve.

Have a great Christmas.

Roy

Thank you Roy, for that additional guidance. Perhaps I need to bring You-Tube video's higher up my list!

Wishing you a very Merry Xmas too! 🎄
