"Every thing that you see happening in a young brain can happen in an older brain. The changes can be ever bit as great as the changes in the newborn." by Dr. Michael Merzenich

From conception until we take our first job, and again from when we retire as seniors, we have the time and are primarily learning the knowledge and skills to prepare us for whats to come or leaving a legacy. In between the two we are expected to work to provide a living and raise a family.

In 2000 it become common knowledge that our senior mind can create new brain cells just like we did as babies. We wired our mind until around 20 years old in order to survive and propogate. At age 60 we retired and can now rewire that same mind to continue surviving, exploring the world, and leave a legacy.

I wish everybody all the best and success with your rewiring challenge. Great Grandpa Roger Humbke

Sounds good to me as a 74 yo.

Teri

That's hopeful to learn, Roger...thanks for the share and enjoy your weekend.

Susan

hi Susa,

Thanks for the reply.

With appreciation,
Roger

There is no doubt, Roger, that WA can do wonders for one's cognitive ability regardless of age. Well done!

Dave

Very true!

There is hope for us all as we age then Roger!

Thanks for the share my friend and enjoy what is left of your weekend! :-)

Hope and the belief that they can succeed!

Absolutely my friend! :-)

This is great, Roger. It's just along the same lines as my new website for seniors in survival - Golden Survivalist - targeted to us seniors and what we can add to survivalism in our golden years :)

Thanks for the info!

Teri

Hi Teri,

Keep up the good work! It takes a long time for scientific knowledge to get accepted by scientists, let alone the average person like us.

Santiago Ramona y Cajal (born in 1852), a Spanish neurologist and pathologist who is considered the father of modern neuroscience wo the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1906 for his weork on the structure of the nervous system. He authored "Degeneration and Regeneration of the Nervous System" 1928 which Amazon wants over $300.00 for. It's just another way the large pharmaceuticalkeep us buying their pills with the governments' blessing . It's not only them - alot of professors make a living because of their training and they can not keepup while trying to make a living.

Anyway I will be cutting back on my time spent here on WA and digging deep for what will help live a long, meaninful and happy life through serving others. The older I get the less money I need and besides that I find appreciation much more rewarding than money.

Roger
