Joined February 2016
A multifarious educator/facilitator and entrepreneur who has become more focused on learning new knowledge and skills, with the aim of developing new attitudes towards life and online businesses. Spent 2000 to 2012 in China working for the Bank of China, Shenzhen's Children Hospital, University of Shenzhen, Guangzhou Daily,Newspaper Group, Canadian International School Sanya, JMD Manufacturing Group and other Governmental bodies. Seven of those 12 years were spent developing Canadian High School Programs in Chinese Public High Schools. Graduates entered English speaking universities, primarily in Canada, USA, Australia and Britain, and are now employed citizens who are raising families world-wide.

My greatest joy in life came when I changed from being a TEACHER to a FACILITATOR in the early 1993 & was able to change STUDENTS into LEARNERS. Learning creates an ENDORPHIN RUSH that becomes an ADDICTION.

Individuals, like myself, with ADHD are most often high risk takers who crave excitement and change. Although I have been a teacher/principal for 25 years, I have also enjoyed life as a hotel owner, commodity broker, real estate salesman, taxi driver and started a number of business.

I am presently living in Edmonton, Alberta with my Chinese wife (Fanny Liang) and her 20 year old daughter (Carrie). My days are spent working on developing web sites - a family history, ADHD & Addictions I have Known; Personal Development, Lucid Dreaming, Seniors Cohousing, Historical Costumed Interpretation at Fort Edmonton and On-line Business Development. My interests are eclectic and at present include genealogy, reading historical fiction, learning, trading stock, gold, silver and digital currencies, travel and doing research on the internet.

Good day to you Roger, my name is Ken and I welcome you to WA and thank you for the follow. You have had a very interesting career and kudos to you for a man having many talents. A risk taker indeed. I have talents but I don't believe they are to your degree.
I look forward to working with you and wish you much enjoyment and success in your online journey.

Lovely bio, Roger, and btw thanks for the follow! I just retired from a school that specialized in ADD, ADHD, dyslexic, etc high schoolers, and I know exactly what you mean: the joy in their faces when they finally started to get it, when they had a flash of self-confidence, the rush when the girl who told me "I'm too dumb to take Chemistry" tells me, on FB, that she's starting her PhD program! Wow!
Glad you found me, and I hope to follow in your footsteps as I go forward in WA!

Thank you for following me, I am now following you. Read your bio and I have 1 question. Do you ever take time to breathe? OK 2 questions, is historical fiction about what could have been? I am impressed. PS I have been know as a WA for long time. The W stands for wise.
RogerHumbke Premium
First question; I have an addictive personality with a bad case of ADHD

Second question: James Michener is probably the world's greatest historical fiction author and I have read many of his books more than once.

Will be looking for you online.
denara2017 Premium
Have read some of Michner's books.

Wow Roger, what an exciting life you Have! Thanks for the follow. I have of course followed you back. I was nurturing an idea in real estate that could be Highly lucrative and Should involve Chinese investors. I've shelved the idea, for the time being, as it Requires the involvement of my Tanzanian Wife, who is too busy nursing her very ill mom right now.
RogerHumbke Premium
I lived in China from 2000 to 2012 and was lucky to buy properties in 3 cities at reasonable prices. Wouldn't have been able to do it with out my Chinese wife. We are headed back to Guangzhou for 6 weeks in May.

Do you ever go to Tanzania? There must be opportunities there.

GoranBockman Premium
My idea is based on the Tanzanian opportunities actually.

Good afternoon Roger,

Your profile leaves me breathless, what a lot of things.! All this will keep your brain more than healthy with all these challenges/interests. I hope you also give your brain the right type of food included a nice big spoon of coconut oil a day.
I always tell this to the new people I meet here. One of my first posts was the Spanish priest and the world library, perhaps you care to read it. A lot of inspiration can be found there and also some amazing documents.
Thank you for the follow and all the best.

Regards, Taetske

Monetarily, I haven't even got start, but in every other way the last two years have been good. 2017 was fantastic for me; 2017 was so-so; and 2018 is when I am going to start making money.

Loved your "We are here to help!"

Hellow Roger, I am so happy to belong to your network, I will follow you too.
I am very aware of ADD, 2 of my children had it. I say had as in the past. Being aware is half way to controlling it.
This has lead me to various sites learning about it. I think there are more people with this disability than is acknowledged.
Sometimes it brings out a remarkable person who powers on anyway.
Cheers & Merry Xmas,

When I was a youngster and it wasn't until I was a school principal who had to deal with ADHD children that I realized I had a severe case of it also.

I have learned to live with the fact that if things are going smoothly in my life, my mind just has to throw a wrench into the machinery. If one can accept the fact and focus on the benefits, life is a lot easier.

I am 75 and still haven't slowed down, but life is sure interesting and I wouldn't have it anyother way. Smoking, drinking and gambling have all been big challenges, but those I have learned to control well. Learning - I have let run!

Yes there is that side of ADD more incllined to additions, all because you're trying to slow things down. We all have to try for moderation.
Cheers Jae

Hi Roger,

I love your use of the word facilitator for education and learning....
So true

Great genealogy site... lots of research...

There is a new theme provided by worspress, the twenty seventeen. The great news is, it does not change your settings, just your design and allows a lot more...
RogerHumbke Premium
Thanks Fleeky,
Can I move a SiteRubix and if so how do I do it? I am leery of moving my main website and not being able to find things.

Fleeky Premium
Yes... you can

1.you do it by yourself movinvg from siterubix to youR new wEbsite using tools in Your dashboard.

Export from your source website(the one you want to move from)
Import in your target (the one you want to move to)

2 in You sitemanagemet you have a moveoption in your working bar. Clicking it does it dor you, but.... you looze content. Although all is redirected...

I use 1.

And in doing so, you keep it all

If you use 2. Your old site redirects to the new one

Hi Roger! Nice to meet you here! I, too, am a qualified IT trainer here in Ireland but I prefer writing more than speaking in front of people! The beauty of teaching adults is that they WANT to learn as opposed to children who HAVE to learn. It's wonderful to see the lightbulb go off when someone "gets it." I look forward to hanging out with you here! Alanna

Hi Roger, would like to invite you to join a group that helps each other improve Google rankings. Google rely on "engagement metrics" (which can be found in google analytics) to determine our rankings in Google search results. Please read further below:

Google is putting more emphasis in User Experience. Because Google can't read human's mind, Google rely on engagement metrics, which can be found in Google Analytics to judge user experience. For examples :
1. Sessions with search : total number of visitors who searched for your website in Googl search
2. Results Pageview / Search : total number of pages visited after clicking into your website from search results
3. Click Through Rate (CTR) : the percentage of users clicking into your website from search results
4. Pageview : total number of pageviews
5. Unique pageviews : total number of pageviews by new users
6. Avg. time on page : average time spent reading a page
7. Pages/session : average number of pages users navigated when visiting your site
8. Avg. session duration : average time spent navigating your website
9. Bounce rate : the percentage of users leaving your website without navigating to a second page

Better engagement metrics results indicate good user experience to Google, which will improve our rankings.

I have started a ranking tool in my site to do exactly that, inviting people within WA community and people from other communities, so that we can get more people to contribute in this group.

Using this tool in a consistent manner will effectively improve your Google ranking.

Please visit http://www.kickstartdream.com, and click on Ranking Tool. See you there.

Hello Roger ... thank you for the follow. That's an aggressive site development plan. As you stated in one of your posts ... beats watching Netflix all day.

One of my 2 goals when I came to WA was to find something that would keep me mentally engaged. I have met that goal 100%. Still working on goal #2 ... develop a supplemental income stream that would support my golfing addiction. But it is the challenge of this that helps keep me engaged.

I wish you the best on your WA journey.
